It's there to measure your current level.

And levels can improve.

That's why I always tell my students...

Don't study because you're afraid of failing.

Study because you're preparing to succeed.

One of the most common mistakes I hear from beginners is using the wrong verb when introducing themselves.

For example...

❌ Yo es Filipino.

The correct sentence is:

✅ Yo soy Filipino.

Why?

Because we use SER when talking about:

✔ Who you are

✔ Your nationality

✔ Your profession

Examples:

🇵🇭 Soy filipino.

👩 Soy enfermera.

👨 Soy cocinero.

Don't worry if you've made this mistake before.

Learning Spanish is a journey.

When people hear "Spanish citizenship"...

Many immediately think about paperwork.

Requirements.

DELE A2.

CCSE.

But for me...

Becoming a Spanish citizen meant something much bigger.

It meant opening new opportunities.

It meant feeling more confident about my future.

It meant knowing that all the sacrifices, long workdays, and study sessions were worth it.

The passport wasn't the real reward.

The real reward was the peace of mind that came with achieving a dream I once thought was impossible.

I still remember the days when I doubted myself.

I wondered if my Spanish was good enough.

I wondered if I could really pass the exams.

I wondered if I was capable.

Looking back now...

I'm so grateful I didn't give up.

Because every small step brought me closer to where I am today.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear from Filipinos preparing for the DELE A2 exam is this...

"Mailyn, mag-eexam na lang ako kapag fluent na ako sa Spanish."

Can I tell you something?

You do not need to speak perfect Spanish to pass the DELE A2 exam.

The DELE A2 is designed for learners.

The exam is meant to assess whether you can communicate at an A2 level—not whether you sound like a native Spanish speaker.

When I was preparing for my own exam, I also made mistakes.

I wasn't perfect.

But I prepared strategically.

I focused on understanding grammar.

I practiced reading, listening, writing, and speaking step by step.

Little by little, my confidence grew.

Many of my students felt nervous before their exam too.

Some told me,

"Baka bumagsak ako."

"Hindi pa ako magaling magsalita."

Yet they showed up, trusted the process, and achieved APTO.

Don't wait until you feel "perfect."

You'll probably never feel completely ready.

Instead, prepare consistently and trust your progress.

Confidence doesn't come before preparation.

Confidence comes because of preparation.

The biggest mistake I made when I started learning Spanish wasn't that I lacked motivation.

It wasn't because I wasn't intelligent.

And it definitely wasn't because I was too old to learn.

My biggest mistake was trying to learn everything at once.

One day I watched YouTube videos.

The next day I downloaded a different reviewer.

Then I memorized vocabulary.

Then I practiced random exercises.

I was busy studying...

But I wasn't making real progress.

Everything changed when I stopped chasing "more" and started following a clear learning path.

Instead of asking...

"What else should I study?"

I started asking...

"What should I master first?"

That's when Spanish finally started making sense.

I realized that learning isn't about collecting more materials.

It's about following the right sequence.

Build your grammar foundation.

Practice using simple sentences.

Expand your vocabulary naturally.

Prepare for the DELE A2 exam.

Review for the CCSE exam.

Then move forward with your Spanish citizenship journey.

Looking back...

I didn't need more resources.

I needed more direction.
