En Jerusalén, A. sintió alzarse dentro de sí el Cantar de los Cantares,
y el deseo irrefrenable de pronunciar, quizás en voz baja, quizás cantando:
«Ponme como un sello sobre tu corazón, como una marca sobre tu brazo;
porque fuerte es como la muerte el amor».
«Creo», escribió, «que al fin me acerco más
a comprender la inmensidad de aquel sentimiento».
La poesía de una tierra, aprendida en otra, se vuelve herencia compartida. 📜
When circumstances separate, the word unites. The Ulpán Hebreo Sefarad continues its mission as a bridge between Spain and Israel, and each student is a string that keeps it taut and alive.
In Jerusalem, A. felt the Song of Songs rise within him,
and the irrepressible desire to say, perhaps softly, perhaps singing:
""Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a mark upon your arm;
for love is as strong as death.""
""I think,"" he wrote, ""that at last I come closer
to understanding the immensity of that feeling.""
The poetry of one land, learned in another, becomes a shared inheritance. 📜
