'Este calor no es normal' 🥵 = This heat isn't normal. Even if it's been like this for 3 months. It's NOT normal
'Me estoy asando' 🍗 = I'm roasting. Like a chicken. Because 'tengo calor' is textbook Spanish
'No se puede estar en la calle' 🚫 = You can't be outside. Between 2-6 PM. Spanish law

Why does it work? 🤔
Complaining about weather unites us. It's safe. It's easy. And everyone says 'Es verdad' - It's true.

"Cuando era niño, jugaba en la calle." = When I was a kid, I used to play in the street.
"No había móviles. Mi madre cocinaba todos los días." = There were no cell phones. My mom cooked every day.

With -ABA and -ÍA you can tell your life. Without fear. Without getting stuck.

At our age, we have the best stories. We just need the Spanish to tell them.

If you’re a native English speaker, you’re probably falling for this classic "false friend"! In Spanish, these words have very different jobs, and using the wrong one can change your whole sentence. Here’s the breakdown:

BORRAR: Use this for erasing a whiteboard, a drawing, or a mistake in your notebook. ✏️🧼

ELIMINAR / QUITAR: Use these when you want to "remove" an object from a room or "delete" a digital file. 🗑️💻

REMOVER: Be careful! In most Spanish-speaking countries, this actually means to stir or mix ingredients while cooking. 🥣🥘
