Dr. Carlos Colino participated this weekend in the 72nd Congress of the Spanish Society of Orthodontics, held in Mallorca, where he presented part of his PhD research, which he is due to defend later this year. Several scientific publications arising from this work are also expected in the coming months.
His oral presentation showcased the results of a 3D CBCT study evaluating the tooth movements produced by the Carriere appliance, providing new insights into the biomechanics of Class II correction.
We remain committed to research and evidence based clinical practice, helping to advance orthodontic knowledge and improve outcomes for our patients.

Hoy a las 16:30 h, el Dr Carlos Colino presentará los avances de su tesis doctoral en una comunicación oral centrada en los movimientos producidos por Carriere Motion, analizando los resultados mediante CBCT, el gradiente coronoapical y las diferencias de movimiento entre maxilares.
Un paso más hacia una ortodoncia basada en la evidencia y en la comprensión real de la biomecánica.

Today at 4:30 PM, Dr Carlos Colino will present the latest findings from his PhD research in an oral presentation focused on the tooth movements produced by Carriere Motion, including CBCT analysis, coronoapical gradients, and movement patterns in both arches.
Another step forward towards evidence based orthodontics and a deeper understanding of biomechanics.

By default, all aligner softwares align the incisal edges using the incisal edge itself as a reference to align anteriors, which is not the right reference if your patient has incisal edge wear. 🦷
The software fixes the incisal edge position by tipping the root apex: This movement is biologically impossible in the way it is represented in the virtual set-up. In this tip I am showing you how to use the 3D controls to get rid of those parasite movements, and increase your case predictability.
Remember: aligners work as a closed force system.If one tooth is not tracking correctly, the entire system of forces is affected. ⚠️
