The Spanish Resource Center in Indianapolis is the result of cooperative efforts between the IUPUI Department of World Languages and Cultures and the IUPUI Department of International Affairs, and of the Spanish Embassy’s Ministry of Education. It was ratified at the last Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2007. Our main objective is to improve the teaching of the Spanish language and culture in
Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois, providing a meeting place for those involved in the teaching and study of Hispanic language and culture, including teachers, students, and administrators of all levels. We also promote the various initiatives set forth in the Memorandum of Understanding, signed by the Spanish Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Departments of Education of the four states mentioned above and several school districts and universities of the area. The Spanish Resource Center at IUPUI strives to be a meeting place for the people and institutions involved in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois. The resources and initiatives of the Center are designed for use by teachers, administrators, and students of all educational levels.

El Centro Español de Recursos en IUPUI es el resultado del esfuerzo cooperativo entre, el Departamento de Lenguas y Culturas Mundiales, el Departamento de Asuntos Internacionales de Indiana University Purdue University Indianápolis (IUPUI), y de la Consejería de Educación de la Embajada de España. Fue ratificado en el último MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) del año 2007. Nuestro principal objetivo es mejorar la enseñanza de la lengua española y su cultura en los estados de Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio e Illinois, proporcionando un punto de encuentro para profesorado, estudiantes y administraciones de todos los niveles que están involucrados en la enseñanza y estudio de la lengua española y de las culturas hispánicas. También se promocionan las diferentes iniciativas recogidas en los Memorando de Entendimiento firmados por el Ministerio de Educación de España con los Departamento de Educación de los cuatro estados, diferentes distritos educativos y universidades de la zona. Los materiales e iniciativas del Centro están destinados al profesorado, administraciones educativas y estudiantes de todos los niveles educativos.
