50 years later… back where it all began. ❤️

U2 returned to the school where their story started as teenagers — this time as one of the most iconic bands in the world.

And after all those years? Still joking. 😂
When Bono talks about whether the students enjoyed the concert, he jokes that they can’t ask for their money back… because the concert was free.

Legends then. Legends now.

Sometimes the best content ideas come from a simple question. 😂

La semana pasada estábamos de paseo e Ibai me hizo una de esas preguntas que de repente me hacen pensar: “Espera… aquí hay vídeo.” 👀

Porque estas tres expresiones parecen casi iguales, pero NO lo son:

🚶 on the way → de camino
🚧 in the way → en medio / estorbando
🌳 stay on the path → mantenerse en el camino / no salirse del camino

Así que gracias, Ibai, por hacer preguntas mientras paseamos y proporcionarme contenido sin saberlo. 😂❤️

🇬🇧 IT ALL STARTED HERE… 50 YEARS AGO. ❤️

On 25 September 1976, a 14-year-old Larry Mullen Jr. put a handwritten note on the noticeboard at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin looking for musicians to form a band.

A group of teenagers answered.

They met at Larry’s house. They played together. They changed names a few times — Feedback, then The Hype… and eventually became U2. 🎸

Exactly 50 years later, Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. went back to the school where their story began and played a surprise concert for today’s students and staff. 🥹

And I think there’s something incredibly special about that:

50 years. The same four people. Back where it all began. ❤️

And they’re not just looking back: U2 have also announced Carnaval De Luz, their first studio album of new material in nine years, coming this November.

Y quizá por eso aprender un idioma a través de la música es mucho más que aprender vocabulario. Acabas entendiendo las historias que hay detrás de las canciones que llevas toda la vida escuchando.

🚶‍♀️ HOW DO YOU SAY “PASEAR” IN ENGLISH? 👀

En español decimos pasear para casi todo… pero en inglés depende un poquito del paseo. 😂

🚶 I’m walking → estoy andando (mostly pleasure)
🌳 go for a walk → dar un paseo (make journey by walking)
☀️ go for a stroll → dar un paseo tranquilo, sin prisa
🥾 go hiking → hacer una ruta/caminar por la naturaleza
⛰️ go trekking → hacer una ruta más larga y exigente

Así que no, salir a dar una vuelta tranquilamente el domingo no siempre es “trekking”. 😂

QUALITY TIME + A SURPRISE 😂🎁

Sometimes you don’t need big plans to have a great day. ❤️

A walk, some fresh air, lots of laughs… that’s what QUALITY TIME is all about: spending time with someone and actually enjoying each other’s company.

🇬🇧 quality time = tiempo que dedicas de verdad a alguien, disfrutando juntos.

And apparently, if you do it right… you might even come home with tomatoes and fresh piparras. 🍅🌶️😂

Not bad for a simple walk!

🇪🇸 A veces los mejores planes son los más sencillos: un paseo, unas risas, buena compañía… y si encima vuelves a casa con regalo, mejor todavía. 😂❤️

Después de todo lo que ha vivido Céline Dion, All By Myself hits differently. ❤️

Todos conocemos esta canción. Probablemente la hemos cantado mil veces… pero ¿alguna vez te habías parado a pensar qué está diciendo realmente?

All by myself no es simplemente “yo sola”. En esta canción habla de soledad, de necesitar a alguien y de no querer seguir estando sola. 💔

Y hay dos expresiones que quiero que te lleves:

🎵 all by myself → completamente sola / yo sola
🎵 anymore → ya no

I don’t wanna be all by myself anymore.
→ Ya no quiero estar completamente sola.

Y ahora que entiendes la letra…

MY LITTLE SECRET 🤫🍰

I love Italian food… but that’s not the only reason I come here. 😂

Sometimes you just need to treat yourself. ❤️

🇬🇧 a treat = un capricho
🇬🇧 to treat yourself = darse un capricho

So today… I’m treating myself to my favourite tiramisu. 😍

🇪🇸 Porque sí, capricho no siempre es caprice. Si hablamos de comprarnos, comernos o hacer algo especial simplemente porque nos apetece, TREAT es una palabra que vas a usar muchísimo.

🍟 Is McDonald’s grammar wrong? 👀

We normally learn that LOVE is a stative verb, so we say:

❤️ I love it. ✅
❤️ I’m loving it. 🤔

But then McDonald’s gave us “I’m lovin’ it”… 😂

So is it wrong? Not really.

Stative verbs aren’t commonly used in the continuous, but sometimes English breaks the usual pattern for a reason. Here, the continuous makes the feeling sound more immediate and temporary:

👉 I’m really enjoying this right now!

And, of course… “I’m lovin’ it” is much catchier. 😉

🇪🇸 Normalmente no usamos los verbos de estado en continuo, pero el inglés no siempre sigue sus propias “reglas”. En este caso, el continuo hace que la sensación parezca más inmediata: ¡me está encantando!

Y además consiguió exactamente lo que quería: llamar tu atención. 🍟😂
