In Spanish, presa can mean two completely different things 👀

💧 A dam → una presa de agua
🦌 A prey → un animal cazado

Same word in Spanish… completely different meanings in English 🤯

These little differences are what make languages so interesting ✨

En español, presa puede significar dos cosas totalmente distintas 👀

🦌 Prey → animal cazado

La misma palabra en español… pero significados totalmente diferentes en inglés 🤯

We are in Haro, one of the wine capitals of Spain 🍷 And today’s English mistake is a BIG one 😅

“Billion” in English does NOT mean “billón” in Spanish.

🇬🇧 billion = 1,000 million
🇪🇸 billón = 1,000,000 million

That’s why many Spanish speakers get confused when reading English news about money, business, population or wine production. Rioja exports millions of bottles of wine every year worldwide 🌍🍇

So if someone says: “Rioja sold a billion bottles”…that does NOT mean “un billón” in Spanish 😅

Estamos en Haro, una de las capitales del vino de España 🍷 Y el error de hoy en inglés es ENORME 😅

“Billion” en inglés NO significa “billón” en español.

🇬🇧 billion = mil millones
🇪🇸 billón = un millón de millones

Por eso mucha gente se confunde leyendo noticias en inglés sobre dinero, negocios, población o producción de vino. La Rioja exporta millones de botellas de vino cada año 🌍🍇 Así que si alguien dice: “Rioja sold a billion bottles”…eso NO significa “un billón” en español 😅

Fetch is different 🤣

First you usually TAKE something… …and then you BRING the object to another point.

🔹 Take → movement away from you
🔹 Bring → movement towards another person/place
🔹 Fetch → go somewhere, get something and bring it back
🔹 Carry → no real direction, just transporting something

If you’re an advanced student… you probably knew that already 😏

That’s the kind of English nobody explains properly in textbooks.



🇪🇸 TAKE, BRING, FETCH y CARRY 👀

Fetch es diferente 🤣

Primero normalmente COGES algo…
…y luego haces LO LLEVAS porque a otro punto.

🔹 Take → movimiento alejándose de ti
🔹 Bring → movimiento hacia otra persona/lugar
🔹 Fetch → ir a buscar algo y volver con ello
🔹 Carry → no tiene una dirección concreta, simplemente transportas algo
Si eres alumno avanzado… seguramente ya lo sabías 😏

Este es el tipo de inglés que normalmente no explican bien en los libros.

🚀 In space, astronauts have to physically touch each other… all the time 😳

The Artemis astronauts explained that the spacecraft is so small that they are constantly bumping into each other or staying in physical contact.

👉 “We have to physically be touching at all times.”

And honestly… imagine spending days inside something the size of a minivan with the same people 😅
