We just finished our final parent meetings of the year… and honestly, I’m full. 💛
Full of pride. Full of joy. Full of deep gratitude.
What started as a passion project has grown into something truly special.
This year, we saw children thrive English literacy, families grow in confidence and a community that believes in what we’re building and keeps coming back.
Every class, every conversation, every tiny breakthrough has mattered.
And it’s working. It’s really working. 🌱
To the families who’ve trusted us, laughed with us, and stuck with us — THANK YOU.
You’ve made this a year to remember.
We’re only just getting started…
💬✨ Leave us a comment about what you are most excited about!

✨ End of Term = Our Favourite Time of Year ✨
We don’t measure progress in grades or test scores.
We measure it in growth, confidence and conversations.
💬 At Next Level English, every term ends with personalised family calls, not to assess, but to connect, reflect and celebrate your child’s unique bilingual journey.
This week alone, we’ve:
🎉 Welcomed new of a new baby into one of our families
🌍 Prepared kids for big moves across countries
✏️ Helped students gear up for new schools
Every story reminds us why these conversations matter, so we can support your child even better.
If you’ve ever wondered…
➡️ How is my child really doing in English?
➡️ How can I raise a confident, happy communicator?
Let’s chat! Drop me a DM 💌
I’d love to show you how we make learning English joyful, personal and stress-free.

It’s Mother’s Day here in Spain and while I’m not with my wife today, I couldn’t let it pass without saying something.
At home, she’s the reason our kids are growing up proud of who they are, confident in more than one language and surrounded by love.
Without her support and our shared commitment to raising multilingual and multicultural children, this journey would be so much harder.
And through Next Level English, I see mums just like her every day
🌍 Holding space for two (or more) languages at home
⚖️ Balancing school, identity, emotions and endless WhatsApp groups
✨ Championing their children’s learning quietly and constantly
Feliz Día de la Madre to my incredible wife, to the brilliant mums I work with and to every mum out there raising children between cultures.
When and how do you celebrate Mother’s Day?

Why is learning to read in English so much harder—even when kids speak it fluently at home? 🤔
You’d think that if a child speaks English confidently, reading would come naturally too… right? But for many bilingual kids, that just isn’t the case—and it’s not because they’re behind.
💡 In fact, it has a lot more to do with how English works compared to other languages.
In many languages—like Spanish, Greek, or Turkish—reading comes quicker because: ✅ Letters match sounds
✅ Spelling is consistent
✅ Most kids become fluent readers in 1–2 years
But English throws in curveballs like:
🔤 “ough” in though, rough, through, cough
🤯 Silent letters in words like knight and write
🌍 Borrowed words with unfamiliar spelling patterns—like genre, ballet, or colonel
📖 I wrote a blog that breaks this down in a simple way: – Why English takes longer to learn to read
– What many parents (understandably!) assume
– And how you can support your child without pressure or overwhelm

Have you noticed any differences?

They chat away in English… but when it comes to reading and writing? That’s a whole different story."
If your child speaks fluently but struggles with reading and writing, you’re not alone. I’ve seen this happen again and again—not just as a teacher, but in my own home.
🔍 The reality? Fluent speaking ≠ automatic literacy.
📚 Reading and writing aren’t just about exposure—they need structure, phonics, and practice.
🤯 And some languages (like English!) make it way harder than others.
The biggest myth? That school will take care of it.
But heritage language learners often don’t get the literacy instruction they actually need.
📖 In this week’s blog, I break it down:
✅ Why some languages are easier to learn to read than others
✅ Why English is particularly tricky for bilingual kids
✅ What actually works to build literacy at home
💬 What’s your child’s heritage language? Are they learning to read in it too? Drop a comment or share your experience!

🌍💙 Father’s Day in Spain – Celebrating Dads Raising Bilingual Kids!
Today, we’re celebrating the dads who make languages a family journey.
💙 To the dads who…
✔ Turn bedtime stories into magical language moments 📖✨
✔ Sing songs, make up rhymes, and play word games 🎶🧩
✔ Have full conversations in their heritage language—even when it’s easier to switch 🗣️🔄
✔ Turn everyday routines into language-learning opportunities (cooking, driving, playing, etc.) 🚗🥘🎮
✔ Pass down jokes, traditions and stories from their own childhood 🤗📜
You are making a difference. 🎉
💡 When both parents are involved in language learning, kids feel more confident, connected, and proud of their roots.
For some families, mums take the lead in language teaching. For others, dads step up as champions too. But when we work together, our kids thrive.
I know this first-hand—because I grew up without a dad. Being fully present in my kids' lives, especially in their language journey, is everything to me. I went from struggling with languages to raising bilingual kids in Spain, and I’ve learned that every conversation, every effort, and every shared word counts.
💙 This Father’s Day, let’s celebrate the dads who show up, the ones who try, and the ones who make learning a family adventure.
💬 Tag a dad who inspires you!
