Burnout doesn’t fully leave when you recover from it.
It stays in the background, shaping how you work.
For me, it shows up as two voices pulling me in different directions.
If you’ve been through burnout, which voice do you hear more often?

There are many ways to handle stress at the end of a long day:
Distraction, sedation, force.
But none of them actually releases stress…
I used to default to all three at different points and wonder
why I didn’t feel better the next day.
Turns out the answer was much simpler.

Two minutes.
A day has 1,440 minutes.
The idea that we can’t find two of them is actually hilarious.
And yet that’s the excuse most of us use: I don’t have time for that.
My usual answer to this is: What’s easy to do is easy not to do.
I picked that line up once while listening to Jim Rohn, and lately I find myself saying it a lot to my clients (and to myself 😅).
Because the things that would change the outcome of a day are almost always small.
Two minutes to pause and catch my breath to walk into the meeting clearheaded.
A glass of water and a look out the window to make the task list feel less overwhelming.
An intention said out loud in the morning to jump into our day with direction.
We know all of this. And we still skip it constantly.
The reason isn’t that we doubt the effectiveness of these small micro practices, but the laziest excuse our brain offers: “I don’t have time.”
So, coming back to the 1,440 minutes we have every day…
Are we really unable to spare them?
Because without intention in the form of breaks, breath, and mental space, the next meeting is even more exhausting, the inbox more daunting, and the task in front more daunting.
A simple pause would have helped handle it better.
And then after work, we’re either depleted or frustrated about how the day went.
It’s a total trap.
The things that would actually make a real difference in how we move through our days are almost always too easy to do.
So next time your brain says ‘I don’t have time,’ remember: 1,440 minutes/day.
You can spare two.

At my talk at the Mindful Mentors Club, my heart was racing. My palms were sweaty. My mouth was dry.
I was speaking to a curious, friendly crowd. No danger involved. No assassin lurking behind a pillar.
And yet my body went into fight-or-flight mode as if my life was at stake. So annoying...
I’m pretty sure you know this feeling too:
An important meeting. A job interview. A first date. A difficult conversation. And your body acts up.
And you’re standing there asking yourself: what’s happening?
The short answer is, your brain hasn’t changed much in 100,000 years.
Up to today, your brain is constantly asking these four questions:
🔸Am I safe?
🔸Am I in control?
🔸Do I belong?
🔸Do I have enough?
The moment one of those feels uncertain, your nervous system reacts... what once was the lion is now a room of curious people.
Next time it happens, try meeting it with a little curiosity instead of frustration. Your brain is just doing its job. A very old job, in a very new world.

Sugar addiction is far more common than most people realize.
And for high performers, it’s particularly counterproductive, quietly working against the sustained energy and focus they’re trying to build.
The tricky part? It’s rarely the obvious things. Most people are already cutting back on sweets.
The real problem is what’s hiding in the foods that seem completely fine.
Watch the reel to finetune your habits as well.

Most morning routines are built around output.
Getting more done before 9 am. Being productive before anyone else is awake. Hello, ‘The 5 am Club’.
But shouldn’t the morning be about input first?
In my case, I get up at 7 with a light alarm clock - no sound alarm! The first thing I do is check my smart ring to see how my night went and how ready my body actually is for the day. Then a glass of lukewarm water, because after 7 or 8 hours without drinking, your body is dehydrated before you’ve even started.
Then I go to my yoga mat. A few minutes of stretching and breathwork, mainly the physiological sigh, to lower the natural cortisol spike that comes with waking up. And then a foam roller along my whole back to release any tension that had built up overnight. That’s it. Then I get ready for the day.
No emails. No social media. No coffee the moment I open my eyes. Just a few things that tell my body: we’re waking up, not rushing.
This is just how I do it. But for me, the intention matters more than the details: Not spiking my stress system before the day has even asked anything of me.
How mindful are you of your morning routine?
P.S. Curious about the physiological sigh? I have a video. Just DM me, and I’ll send it over.

AI is always available. Always at peak performance. Never tired, never distracted, never human.
Yet somewhere along the way, it became the unspoken standard that we should act the same way. Always on, always responsive, always performing at 100%.
But have you ever noticed that your energy levels vary throughout the day?
Yes, every human being has their own rhythm. Some hit peak focus at 8 am. Others don’t come alive until after lunch. Both work, just differently.
Following your rhythm won’t make you a 24/7 peak performer. But it will naturally enhance your performance because you’re working with your personal flow rather than against it.
Ready to set your own energy schedule?
Take the next couple of days to notice: when does your energy peak, and when does it drop? Then start designing around it:
⚡️Put deep focus work in your high-energy window.
⚡️Schedule important conversations when you’re sharp
⚡️Move your body when you feel the dip coming
⚡️Use your lows for admin, emails, and low-effort tasks
Don’t force yourself to peak performance, reach it naturally!
When during the day do you do your best work?

Most of us try to think our way through stress.
But stress isn’t an intellectual experience. It’s a bodily one.
The better we know our stress, the better we can navigate it.
Because when we understand what our body is trying to tell us, we can actually respond, instead of just react.
So the next time you feel triggered, stressed, or just... very activated, use the BASE framework I taught at 🧠Mindful Mentors Club to decode your stress.
Let me know what you notice 👇🏼

We accept stress as the price of ambition.
But what if your stress isn’t a side effect but an attempt by your body to get your attention?
Have you ever wondered why you get stressed in certain situations?

I’ll be speaking about exactly this at 🧠 Mindful Mentors Club Barcelona on March 14th — link in comments for tickets.
