🎭 Per Carnestoltes, totes les bèsties van soltes!
"At Carnival, all the beasts run loose" - and we could not love this Catalan proverb more, because honestly it describes how we approach language learning on a daily basis 😄
We were on Tot Es Mou on 3Cat this Friday for “Carnestoltes”, Catalan Carnival, and this saying sparked the most fun conversation about how languages across Europe capture that same carnival spirit - that wonderful feeling that for once, anything goes.
It's actually the perfect metaphor for learning a new language. The best progress happens when you throw caution to the wind, look a bit silly and just go for it. That's always been our way and always will be!
Watch the clip to see which other languages we analysed - and to find out what it has in common with Las Vegas 🎰
What's your approach to carnival - and to language learning? Do you play it safe or let the beast loose? 😄 Tell us in the comments!
Happy Carnival and, as always, happy learning!

We were back on Tot es mou on Friday analysing another fantastic saying! This time we dove into one of our favourite Catalan expressions: "demanar la lluna en un cove" (asking for the moon in a basket) 🌙🧺✨
It's incredible how this concept of asking for something impossible exists across so many languages! From English "asking for the moon," to Turkish "gökte ay var" (there’s a moon in the sky) - every linguistic culture has found beautiful and often similar ways to express the same idea, showing us how connected we all are! 🌍❤️
What's your favourite version of this saying? How do you say "asking for the impossible" in your language or the language you're learning? Let us know below!

While we were away these last few weeks, we had a great conversation with La Voz de Galicia that really got us thinking! 🤔
The interview dives deep into something we're adamant about: "Tenemos que ser capaces de hacer que quieran que la lengua sea una parte integral de su vida desde ya" - we need to make people WANT language to be an integral part of their lives from the very beginning. Identifying with the language you're learning is absolutely crucial - it’s a decisive factor in helping you truly accomplish your goals with it!
Plus, we couldn't help but mention that a Galician challenge is definitely on our ever-growing to-do list! 💚
Check out the full interview for more insights about language learning, education challenges, and why every language - big or small - deserves our attention!
How do you try to integrate the language you’re learning into your daily lives? And what language do you think we should tackle next? Let us know below! 👇

They say that all good things come in threes but we like to think it’s actually in twos! And we had plenty of fun and good times last week in beautiful chatting to the wonderful duo Tino Böttcher and Julia Menger over at ARD Mediathek & Das Erste and MDR - Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk about the most effective and easiest ways of learning a language. Check out both interviews below! Have a great weekend / Schönes Wochenende!

Vielen herzlichen Dank an Veronika Silberg und DER SPIEGEL für das schöne Gespräch! This interview is particularly special to us because Der Spiegel was one of our main sources for learning German as teenagers that helped us master the language. It’s therefore a real honour to be featured as experts and talk in depth about how best to learn a language. If you’re looking for language-learning tips or innovative ways to spice your learning up, check out the link below. Frohes Lernen!/Happy learning!
