I had a captivating morning in Arteixo engaging in CPD training organised by the Royal Galician Football Federation, Arteixo Council, and Atlético Arteixo. The session commenced with a touching tribute to the late on the eve of what would have been his 93rd birthday.
coach, , eloquently defined a playing style as the interactions, pursued by the coach, between players in both possession and recovery phases. He emphasized on the importance of a ‘non-verbal communication system among everyone,’ enabling the team to gain unseen advantages during the game.
Sports psychologist, highlighted the distinction between setting controllable player demands versus exerting external pressure. He emphasized working on the three Cs—control, concentration, and self-confidence—throughout the week before the upcoming game.
I personally believe that being coherent and having clear communication are important factors in effective coaching. So I liked how he explained the difference between a favour (benefitting an individual) and an exception (benefitting the team or the greater good).
