Congratulations once again to all who qualified for the Pre-Final Round of the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition! 🚀 Here is a full breakdown to help you prepare, stay confident, and make the most of this exciting stage.

📝 Format of the Pre-Final Round
– 6 problems in total, grouped by difficulty:
– 2 Basic Problems (4 points each)
– 2 Advanced Problems (6 points each)
– 2 Research Problems (8 points each), based on real scientific papers

The problems cover a wide range of astronomical topics and go beyond school-level content, giving you a chance to apply your creativity, logic, and scientific understanding.

📚 How to Prepare
– Review fundamental astronomy concepts, definitions, and laws
– Practice reading scientific texts, especially for the Research Problems
– Train with problems from past years available on our website!

🔍 What Makes a Great Solution?
– Be clear and structured: explain your approach step-by-step
– Show your reasoning and thought process
– Double-check your final answers and calculations
– Use creative methods when possible—there’s more than one path to the solution!

🚀 Solve Astronomy Problems Participate in the IAAC 2025 Qualification Round and earn recognition for your skills in astronomy and astrophysics.

🌍 Who Can Participate in IAAC? 🧠
The International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition is open to students from all countries who are eager to explore the universe through science and problem-solving!

📚 Eligible participants:
- High school and university students of all grades
- Divided into 3 age groups:
• Junior: 10th grade and below (under 16)
• Youth: 11th–13th grade (under 19)
• Senior: University level or ≥ 19 years

💡 Your age group is based on your status on the submission deadline and will stay the same throughout the competition.

💡 Even if you're in a gap year: if you're under 19, you're Youth; otherwise, you're Senior.

💡 IAAC welcomes open-minded, creative students who love astronomy. English fluency helps, and you’ll need internet access to submit your solutions online.

🏆 This year's awards include two exclusive telescopes signed by astronaut Frank De Winne and Nobel Prize laureates Francois Englert, Gerard 't Hooft, Michel Mayor, and Didier Queloz. 🔭

The BRESSER NANO AR-80/640 is a high-quality achromatic refractor telescope designed for beginners and hobby astronomers who want a simple, reliable way to explore the night sky.

With an 80 mm aperture and a 640 mm focal length, it provides clear, wide-field views of the Moon, planets like Jupiter and Saturn, and even some bright deep-sky objects such as star clusters and nebulae. The achromatic lens system minimizes color fringing and delivers sharp, detailed images.

Mounted on the lightweight and intuitive Nano AZ mount, the telescope offers easy, manual movement—perfect for quick setup and spontaneous stargazing sessions. The package typically includes a 26 mm Super Plössl eyepiece, a red-dot finder, and a sturdy aluminum tripod, making it ready to use out of the box.

We're thrilled to officially announce the launch of the 2025 edition of the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition!

After a later start this year, the Qualification Round is now live, with the submission deadline set for Friday, 4 July 2025

Participants across all rounds can earn various awards

The prizes are worth 1400 USD, including cash prizes and two telescopes signed by astronaut Frank De Winne and Nobel Prize laureates François Englert, Gerard 't Hooft, Michel Mayor, and Didier Queloz.

There are special certificates for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners in each age group (Junior, Youth, Senior)

All Finalists with at least 50% of points receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Honour.

National Arvards

The best participant from each country is recognized with a National Award Certificate, and top national scorers are featured on our website.

Certificates for All Rounds

Pre-Finalists and Qualification Round participants receive official participation certificates

A special hoppur is awarded to participants who submit solutions digitally using professional tools.

Hard copies of certificates are sent to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners, while all other participants receive digital certificates, which include a permanent verification ID.

As usual in Quasar club in STEM Gharbiya high school, there was a great job from the students , they did greatness and a great session for the students of grade 10 , and this session was under supervision mrs Hala Hassan🤩🤩

So that we define what is the quasar club and what is its goals and why did we choose the name quasar for the club and what is it basically?! 🤔

We also talked about one of the most important competitions for astronomy and space, which is the IAAC competition and how to apply for it and apply for it when and which are its competitions, and how can we help them in this competition !! 🤩💫

We talked with them about a very important concept in the science of Astronomy, which is black holes 🌌

Let’s swtitch to the best and most interesting part of the session , and it is a new and different activity , which is that we wrote some information about the astronomy in papers, and we distributed it in a random way between the students and everyone reads the information with him and we discuss it, and of course the students loved this part of the season very much and they also benefited with a lot of information 😍🌠

If you think that all the greatness we have, I would like to tell you that there is still greatness, it will happen soon ✨

زي ما انتو متعودين من quasar club الطلاب قدموا عظمه لطلاب جريد 10 🤩🤩

بحيث اننا عرفنا ايه هو ايه ال quasar club وايه اهدافه وليه اختارنا اسم quasar لل club وايه هو معناه اساسا ؟!🤔

اتكلمنا برضو عن مسابقه من اهم المسابقات للفلك والفضاء وهي مسابقه IAAC وكيفيه التقديم عليها والتقديم هيفتح امتى وايه الجوايز بتاعتها وازاي هنساعدهم في المسابقه دي وفي باقي مسابقات الاسترو !!🤩💫

اتكلمنا معاهم عن concept مهم جدا في علم الاسترو والفلك وهو ال black holes او الثقوب السوداء 🌌

نيجي بقى لاجمد جزء من السيشن وهو اكتيفيتي جديد ومختلف عشان محدش يزهق وهو اننا كتبنا شويه معلومات عن الاسترو في معلومات ورقمناه ووزعناه بطريقه عشوائيه بين الطلاب وكل واحد يقرأ المعلومه اللي معاه ونتناقش فيها وطبعا الطلاب حبوا الجزء ده من السيشن جدا واستفادوا كمان بمعلومات كتير 😍🌠

لو انت فاكره ان دي كل العظمه اللي عندنا احب اقولك لسه في عظمه هتحصل قريب ✨
