In the previous video coded 9-1, we discussed how to gather data intelligently for an experiment or survey,
we turn now to Step 2, Organizing and Summarizing Data.
After the measurements of interest have been collected, ideally the data are organized, displayed, and examined by using various graphical techniques. As a general rule, the data should be arranged into categories so that each measurement is classified into one, and only one, of the categories. This procedure eliminates any ambiguity that might otherwise arise when categorizing measurements.

Statistics is the study of collecting, analysing, interpreting, presenting, and organizing data. Through this data, we can predict the likelihood of any changes, situations, or events occurring. This enables us to develop proactive plans to address them, thus mitigating their negative impacts or taking advantage of available opportunities. This enables us to make appropriate and necessary decisions quickly, effectively, and in a timely manner. Statistics has numerous applications, from small to large-scale. Statistics has a wide scope in many fields, such as medicine, engineering, sociology, psychology, geology, weather forecasting, and the study of a country's demographics or economy, etc.
The data collected for analysis can be quantitative or qualitative.
Quantitative data is also of two types: discrete and continuous. Discrete data has a fixed value, while continuous data is not fixed (variable) but has a range (range). There are many terms and formulas used in this concept, which will be discussed in turn.
