Let's learn a new work idiom 💪
✓ On the back burner
Before clarifying the meaning of this expression. Do you know an oven?! 🤔
Right. Most ovens have four burners. which are places we put the pots to get hot. Two burners in the front and two others on the back. If you put something on the back burners, it refers to they aren't important or necessary to do it urgently or instantly.
= We use this expression to say something low priority.
If you put something on the back burner it means it's not important to do it right now. You can do it at a later time.
Ex: there's no much time to do this project, so let's put it on the back burner.
Ex: I have a Do-list (many different kinds of things) such as a report {tonight}, a presentation {this week} and preparing for a meeting {next year}. Let's put meeting preparation on the back burner for now.
It's not important to do it right away. You can do it at a later time.
