Professor Ayman Khalil is a distinguished expert in structural and reinforced concrete engineering, with extensive academic, research, and professional experience. He currently serves as Head of the Structural Engineering Department and Head of the Reinforced Concrete Research Unit at Ain Shams University.
His research focuses on structural behavior and design, including shear strength of reinforced concrete structures, prestressed concrete systems, structural health monitoring, dynamic and seismic response of structures, and retrofitting techniques.
Professor Khalil is also the Founder and Executive Manager of Arabia for Design and Engineering Consulting (ADEC), leading major engineering projects across Egypt and the Middle East, including high-rise buildings, bridges, hospitals, and large-scale infrastructure developments.
He is an active contributor to engineering practice and standards, serving as a member of the Egyptian Code Committees for concrete structures, bridges, and strengthening, as well as a member of the Saudi Road Code Committee.
With a strong record in both academia and industry, Professor Khalil has supervised numerous research projects, contributed to international engineering developments, and played a key role in advancing structural engineering practices.
