💸 Common Mistake When Sending Money with InstaPay in Egypt

Here’s a little heads-up that might save you or someone else some confusion 👇

When you send money using InstaPay or a similar app, you’ll usually see two options:
1️⃣ Wallet – for sending to Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash, etc.
2️⃣ Mobile Number – to send directly to someone's InstaPay account.

🔄 But here’s a common issue:

If the person you’re sending money to has connected their InstaPay to a different number (and you don’t have that number), your transfer won’t go to their InstaPay. Instead, even if you choose Mobile Number, the money might go to a wallet service linked to that number — like Orange Cash or Vodafone Cash — because that’s the only thing connected to it.

✅ So before sending:

Check if the number you have is actually linked to InstaPay.

Choose the right transfer option — "Mobile Number" if it is InstaPay.

A tiny detail that makes a big difference 💡

Have you ever made this mistake before? Or is this new info for you? Let me know in the comments!👇

🌟 Egyptian Arabic Word of the Day 🌟

أساسًا
🗣️ Pronounced: ’asāsan
🟦 Meaning: Basically / originally / mainly

---

🧠 What does it mean?

أساسًا is a super useful word in Egyptian Arabic!
It helps you explain the main point or background of something.

---

💬 Examples:

🎭✨ Funny Egyptian Word of the Week:

"يا لهوي!"

(ya-lah-WEE)

A word that screams shock, drama, and disaster — all in one breath!
It means something like:
“Oh my God!” / “Oh nooo!” / “What the heck?!”
But honestly, translation doesn’t do it justice — it’s pure Egyptian emotion. 😅

---

🗣️ When do Egyptians say "يا لهوي"?

Here are some perfect, everyday moments:

👀 1. Unexpected Gossip Bomb:

> Sarah just got engaged — and you didn’t even know she was dating someone?!
😱 يا لهوي!

📱 2. Something Goes Wrong:

> You drop your phone screen-down on the floor:
😫 يا لهوييييي!

💸 3. Crazy Prices:

> Your friend says they bought shoes for $5,000
😵 يا لهوي! (Are you serious?!)

☀️ 4. Bad Weather News:

🫠 يا لهوي!

🍽️ 5. Kitchen Catastrophe:

> You walk into the kitchen… the kids have emptied every jar of rice, lentils, and wheat onto the floor.
🤯 يا لهوييييي! (A disaster!!)

---

🪄 Why You’ll Love It:

It’s emotional

It’s dramatic

It’s SO EGYPTIAN

And it will definitely impress locals when you use it correctly 🇪🇬

---

🕋 What Is Eid al-Adha? The Biggest Eid in Islam 🐑

Right now, Muslims around the world — and here in Egypt — are preparing for Eid al-Adha, also known as عيد الكبير (Eid El-Kebeer), “The Big Eid.”

It’s the most important holiday in Islam — and it’s not just about food or sheep…
It’s about faith, sacrifice, gratitude, and sharing.

---

✨ Why do we sacrifice a sheep or cow during Eid?

It all goes back to the story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) — who was willing to sacrifice his beloved son as an act of obedience to God.

But God, in His mercy, replaced the son with a ram.
So now, every year during Eid, Muslims sacrifice an animal — not as violence, but as a symbol of surrender, obedience, and mercy.

It’s a reminder that nothing should be more important than our faith — not even the things we love most.

---

❤️ What happens after the sacrifice?

In Egypt, families gather early in the morning for prayer, then head to the butcher or farm.
The meat is then divided into 3 parts:

One part for the family

One for relatives and friends

One for the poor and those in need

It’s not just about celebration.
It’s about giving.
It’s about community.
It’s about sharing blessings.

---

🧕🏼 Egyptian Arabic Tip:

We call it:
عيد الكبير (Eid el-Kebeer)
And the sacrifice:
الأضحي (el-adḥa)

---

Have you ever seen Eid al-Adha in Egypt?
Would you like to know what people say or do during this special time?
Ask me in the comments — I’d love to share!

When Egyptians say “Inshallah”... what do we really mean?

On the surface, it means:
“If God wills.”
But let’s be honest... it’s not always that spiritual meaning.

Here’s what "Inshallah" can actually mean — depending on how we say it:

---

🟢 Cheerful, hopeful tone:

> “Inshallah!” = “Yes, I’m planning to.”
(Example: Will you come to the wedding?)

="Count me in"

🟡 Polite-but-avoiding:

> “Inshallah.” = “Probably not, but I don’t want to say no.”
(Will you study tonight?)

= "Don’t wait for me 😅"

🔴 Dry, sarcastic tone:

> “Inshallaaaah.” = “Never gonna happen.”
(Ask Egyptian parents when they’ll buy you a dog.)

= " Not a chance"

🟢 Genuine surrender:

> “Inshallah” = “I hope so… it’s in God’s hands.”
(Will the surgery go well?)

= "Sincere"

🟢 When we don’t know what else to say:

> “Inshallah…” = “Let’s see.” / “Maybe.” / “Please go away now.”

---

So next time someone tells you “Inshallah”…
Don’t just listen to the word.
Feel the vibe. Watch the face. That’s where the truth lives.

---

Have you ever heard an “Inshallah” that meant “absolutely not”?
Tell me your story!
