The English Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun and Translation, Horus University โ€“ Egypt, mourns with profound sorrow and deep sadness the passing of Professor Iman El-Meligy, Professor of English Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Damanhour University, and a distinguished member of the Academic Promotions Committee.

The Department extends its sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased, praying that Almighty God may envelop her in His infinite mercy and forgiveness, grant her eternal peace in Paradise, and bestow patience and comfort upon her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

In a distinctive scientific atmosphere, the English Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Translation โ€“ Horus University organized a seminar titled:
โ€œCreativity in Literature and Translation in the Age of AI: Limits and Capabilities.โ€

The seminar was chaired by Professor. Anwar Abdel Karim (Faculty of Arts โ€“ Damietta University), featuring distinguished participants: Professor Dr. Rafi Habib (Rutgers University โ€“ USA), Professor. Magda Mansour Hasab El Nabi (Girls' College โ€“ Ain Shams University), Dr. Ahmed El Azaby (Faculty of Languages and Translation โ€“ Al-Azhar University), and Dr. Ibrahim El Gazzar (Horus University), with an active attendance from colleagues and students.

The seminar witnessed rich and inspiring discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in literature and translation, as well as the future of integration between humans and technology.
Sincere thanks and appreciation to the Board of Trustees, Professor. Ashraf Kouta, Dean of the Faculty, the esteemed President of the University, and the honorable vice presidents for their continuous support, and to everyone who contributed to the success of this event.

This marks a new step for the English Department towards enhancing scientific dialogue and opening broader horizons for the development of literature and translation.
