I might compete under my national flag but I live in an international community and home is wherever I am.

The International Flag of Planet Earth is a proposal, an ethos I wholeheartedly embody and a flag I am so proud to fly. A flag of the future, the flag all of us can come under 🌍💙🌎💚🌏

Some snippets from Friday WELLNERGY festival - rest is where the magic happens 💫✨

Really impressed with this festival - a comprehensive and fun gathering of all things health and fitness. Lovely to have been a small (but essential) part of it - without rest we will never win 🤍

O N L Y O N E C O M P

My one and only dive at the Only One Apnea Center comp last month.

76m was a comfortable and sensible announcement after my blackout the last day of Freediving World Apnea Center comp.

Even so, I was a little hypoxic on surfacing from this dive (not normal for this depth) but I’d been at the centre hours before my dive for a final medical check and sign off. And the days before hadn’t before also involved a medical. And then there was current…

The day following was an official rest day and I prudently decided to take comp day 3 as rest as well. I would only have done one dive either day 3 or day 4 and I chose to give myself extra rest.

Comp day 4 I was well rested and feeling on form for an 80m dive, unfortunately the current was raging and the day was cancelled - with no back-up day that was the comp over 😢

A pretty sad way to finish, but overall I had a great 4 month training period in Sharm, I just lucked out on conditions for the depth focus part of my training.

My main take aways:

I should have turned early on the 82 at FDW - still learning the lesson that often the smartest thing to do is turn. Had I done that my comp at Only One would have been different.

2027 will be comps in places where conditions aren’t a variable 😩😅

With thanks always to:

vitalityPRO 🌱 co ✨

And my comp coach One Breath Freediving 🙏

… they’re a real thing and I usually try and plan something fun for straight after.

This time it was a shoot with my dear friend at our fav spot - Shark Observatory in Ras Mohammed National Park.

We were joined by for safety and bts camera and friends 💕✨🍾

Sea jeans are super comfy on land and surprisingly easy to swim in - thank you for the kind gift 💙

2. Gates of Allah
4. Dry bag as cool bag and packed with blocks of frozen tofu to keep it chilled and to give to David since I was flying the next day and wouldn’t be eating.
5. The entrance to Shark Obvs - it’s the most magnificent place to dive.
6.BTS - Renny ‘Ruuuuth don’t dive so deep’ always this 😂😂
9. Never tired of seeing camels in the desert 🥰
10.And the last slide - that bottle has a whole story of its own from Istanbul to Hurghada then a road trip to Sharm, finally it was nice to pop it and share it with friends ✨💕

As I see it I have a few options:

1️⃣ choose comps where conditions are (almost) guaranteed good

2️⃣ train so damn hard I can plough through current like does 🤩

3️⃣ both 1 & 2 😁

In general, I’m super happy with my four months training here in Sharm. And it’s been inspiring and lovely to share the platform with power women , and 🩷

And huge thanks to and .freediving who always make a place feel home 🩷

My coaching team, I love you, our work continues ☺️🐡💪 k_inesiology

And I could not do any of this without the support of:

And my comp coach 🙏💙

R E S E T

Recovery, rest, reset… the last two and a half weeks have been a lot.

My first comp in a year, returning to FDW, hopes and expectations (always troublesome), things outside my control (ditto), disappointments, planning and adapting plans… and all at the end of a long training period in Sharm 😅

Still, I remembered just why I love comp dives - there’s nothing like them 😁 so now…

Today - recovery

Tomorrow - rest

Day after - super nice dive and my second and last dive of comp.

Shot from a few weeks ago by my dear friend ❤️

And I couldn’t be doing this without the support of .pro and .co and the coaching and support of .k_inesiology - I can not thank you enough 🙏🩷

FDW COMP DAY 1

My last comp was one year ago, and it wasn’t a successful one. Neither was the one before that, or the one before that, or the one before that… I’ve had a lot of mental work to do the last weeks 😅

The dive I did yesterday was the deepest white card dive I’ve done since 1.5 years 😁

It is the best comp dive I’ve ever done in terms of equalisation, thanks to the work I’ve been doing with the last 6 months or so 😁🙏

My focus this winter has been solely equalisation, it’s too early in to say now whether I have solid consistency but it’s feeling promising - let’s see how my next four comp dives go 😁

1. Just before surface under watch of Head of Safety 🙏💙

2. FDW competition set up

3. FDW place settings ☺️

4. Pre-dive EQ reminder

5/6. Light stretching A few

7. Getting my .planet fins on 🩷

8. Swimming out

9. Warm up dive

10. The performance dive 78m FIM

11. Post dive dance on a kettlebell 5m deep (breathing deco O2 for recovery).

12. Celebrating a good dive with David Watson who is kindly my comp coach and videographer and I am so grateful for his calm presence and support 🙏💙
