Passed Pawn

Bow down to the Queen! She's the most powerful piece on the board,
combining the moves of a Rook AND a Bishop. She can move any number of
squares horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Protect her at all costs!

Capturing in chess is how you take your opponent's pieces off the board! When
your piece lands on a square occupied by an opponent's piece according to its
movement rules, you capture it and remove it. Simple as that! 💥 (Except for
pawns – remember they capture diagonally!)

Check!" means your King is under attack! You MUST move your King, block
the attack, or capture the attacking piece. "Checkmate!" means your King is
under attack AND there's no way to escape. Game over, you win!

Meet the Bishop! ⛪️ These pointy-hatted pieces glide diagonally any number of
squares. Each player starts with two: one on a light square and one on a dark
square, always staying on their color! They're great for long-range attacks.
