Some people think that the climate affects the way of life of a person, while others believe that climate has a greater impact on the economy of the region. Discuss both points of view and give your opinion.

Climate has always played a significant role in shaping human societies. While some people argue that climate mainly affects the lifestyle and behaviour of individuals, others believe that its greatest influence is on the economy of a region. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe the economic impact is more substantial.

On the one hand, climate strongly influences the way people live and interact with their environment. Weather conditions often determine people’s daily routines, clothing, housing styles, and even social habits. In countries with extremely hot climates, for example, people usually avoid outdoor activities during the daytime and prefer social gatherings in the evening when temperatures are lower. Similarly, in colder regions, individuals tend to spend more time indoors and design their homes to preserve heat. As a result, climate becomes an important factor in shaping cultural traditions and lifestyles.

On the other hand, many people believe that climate has a greater effect on the economy, and this view is particularly convincing. Several major industries, including agriculture, tourism, and transportation, depend heavily on weather conditions. Regions with favourable climates and regular rainfall are generally able to produce crops efficiently and maintain economic stability, whereas areas affected by droughts or floods often face financial hardship. Furthermore, tourism revenues are closely linked to climate, as millions of travellers are attracted to sunny beaches or winter resorts each year. Consequently, climate can directly influence employment rates, national income, and overall economic growth.

In conclusion, although climate undoubtedly shapes people’s lifestyles and cultural habits, I believe its impact on the economy is far more significant because it affects the prosperity and long-term development of entire societies.

Some people believe that students should be taught how to manage money at school, while others argue that this responsibility lies with parents. This essay will discuss both views before explaining why I believe schools should play a key role in financial education.

On the one hand, many people argue that parents are better suited to teach their children how to handle money. This is because financial habits often develop at home, where children observe how their parents spend, save, and budget. In addition, parents can provide practical experience by giving their children pocket money and guiding them on how to use it responsibly. For example, a child who receives a weekly allowance may learn to prioritise spending and save for future needs under parental supervision.

On the other hand, it is widely believed that schools should take responsibility for teaching financial management. The main reason is that not all parents have sufficient knowledge or time to educate their children about money matters. As a result, many young people grow up without essential financial skills. Schools, however, can offer structured lessons on budgeting, saving, and even investing, ensuring that all students receive equal opportunities to develop these important life skills. For instance, students who attend financial literacy classes are often better prepared to manage their expenses when they enter university or the workforce.

In my opinion, although parents play an important role, schools should be primarily responsible for teaching money management. This is because schools can provide systematic and comprehensive education that reaches all students, regardless of their family background.

In conclusion, while parents can teach financial habits through daily life experiences, schools are better equipped to ensure that every student gains the necessary knowledge and skills to manage money effectively.

Overall, internet usage increased steadily across all age groups during this period, with younger individuals consistently showing the highest rates, while older groups, although lower, demonstrated noticeable growth.

In 2005, 80% of people aged 16–24 used the internet, rising to 90% in 2010 and reaching almost universal usage at 98% by 2015. Similarly, the 25–44 age group experienced a steady increase, from 70% to 90% over the same period. The 45–54 bracket also saw a significant rise, from 50% in 2005 to 75% in 2015.

Internet usage among the 55–64 group grew from 30% in 2005 to 60% in 2015, while the oldest group, aged 65 and above, had the lowest proportion of users but still experienced a substantial increase, from 15% to 40% over the ten years.
