The Centre for Renewable Energy in The British University in Egypt (CRE-BUE) is proud to host, maintain and monitor the first solar energy charging station for electrical vehicles at the British University in Egypt. This station is installed at BUE premises as a result of an STDF funded project led by Dr. Rania Rushdy, Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering. The installation of the station was made by BUE Engineering Services under the supervision of Professor Maguid Hassan, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Iman El-Mahallawi, the founding director of CRE; and Triple M Construction Company.

Solar arm for agrivoltaic applications
A Slovakian startup has developed a photovoltaic-integrated arm that provides off-grid power for weeding and other small agricultural applications. In its largest configuration, the system is 18 meters long, has a capacity of 2.4 kW, and is able to cover a cultivated area of 994 m².

The Centre for Renewable Energy CRE is conducting its annual summer training programme on "Solar Energy Fundamentals and Measurements - Hands on solar PV panels" starting from 21/7/2019 and for a period of 3 weeks.
The training course includes;
1- Course on:
a- Physics of Light and Optical Devices
b- Materials and Manufacturing of photovoltaics.
c- Generations and development of photovoltaics.
d- PV system components, sizing and applications.
2- Laboratory work, measurements and reporting.
(this includes using PV analyzer).
3- Using specialized software to design and analyze PV panels.
4- Data Analysis (studying experimentally the effects of the operational environment on the efficiency).
5- Field Visits to industrial facilities.
6- Hands-on-session for making your own solar powered charger at an industrial facility.
This unique course provides trainees with the required skills to join the industry of Solar Energy and gives them all the basics for carrying advanced research on the matter.
The course total cost is 2000 EGP with 25% discount for BUE Students (1500 EGP). Payment is available from Tuesday 9/7 to Thursday 11/7 and from Sunday 14/7 to Tuesday 16/7 from 10:00 to 2:00 at CRE - Building A -BUE (Room 4 Lower Floor)

The Centre for Renewable Energy CRE will conduct a summer training programme on"Photovoltaics sizing, manufacturing and measurements" during the period 5-16 Aug 2018 and field visits from 26-30 August 2018.
The course cost is 700 EGP including the field visits and hands-on-session for making your own charger at an industrial facility.
Payment is available on Sunday at CRE - Building A -BUE
