🤔Difference between شُهُور and أَشْهُر

👉Both the words أَشْهُر and شُهُور are plurals of the word شَهْر, which means month. The difference is that the word أَشْهُر is used for 3 to 10 months, while شُهُور starts from 11 months and above.

For example:

مَضَتْ ثَلاثَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَأَنَا أَعِيش مَعَه

I have been living with him for three months.

أَقَمْتُ مَعَهُ شُهُورًا

I lived with him for months.

👉In Nahu, the word أَشْهُر is called the plural qillah (القِلَّة), and شُهُور is called the plural kathrah (الكَثْرَة).Not all words have both the plural qillah and kathrah.

Number 3 to 10 we will use jamak qillah and 11 and above we will use plural kathrah, it has nothing to do with the rule of 'adat ma'dud (العَدَد والعدود). Don't get confused here. See the second example above; the number is not specified.

👉If specific numbers are used, we will apply the rule of 'adat ma'dud (العَدَد والعدود). For example:

أَقَمْت معه أَحَدَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا

I lived with him for ten months.

What you learned from this explanation is that if you see the word أَشْهُر, then the number is between 3 to 10. For example:

Al-Baqarah: 197

الْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَّعْلُومَاتٌ – البقرة :

This verse refers to the months of Hajj.

Another example:

إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِندَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا – التوبة: 36

This verse refers to the number of months in a year, which is 12 months.

How to say son and daughter in Fusha?

In Arabic Fusha we say أَوْلَادِي / ابْنَائي refer to my son and بَنَاتِي refer to my daughter.

In the dialect of some Arab countries they use وُلَادِي and بُذُورَتِي or عِيالِي. Only word عِيَالِي can be used to refer to the whole family.

Difference between وَحْدِي and الوَحيد

لا (No) شيء (thing). أريد (I want) فقط (only) أن (to) أطمئن (reassure) عليك (you).

📌 "To indicate an unsatisfactory health condition, you just need to identify the name of the disease through a dictionary and place it after the word:

عِنْدِي

For example:

عِنْدِي زُكَام 🤧

I have a cold. 😷

The letter "ya'" (ي) after the word عِنْد can be adjusted with reference to the pronoun. For example, عِنْدَكَ (you).

هَلْ عِنْدَكَ زُكَام ؟

Do you have a cold?" 🤒🤔

Here are a couple of examples:

1. عِنْدِي حُمَّى 🤒
I have a fever.

2. عِنْدِهُ سَرَطَان 🦀
He has cancer.

3. هَلْ عِنْدَكَ سُكَّرْ؟ 🩺
Do you have diabetes?

You can replace "زُكَام" (cold) with the name of various diseases to express different health conditions.

✅How to say in Fusha "as far as i remember "

🔥عَلَى ما أَذْكُرُ

It means "as far as I remember...".

▫️ Example sentences:

🔹 وَقْتَها عَلَى ما أَذْكُرُ كَانَ لَمْ يَتَزَوَّجْ بَعْدُ

At that time, as far as I remember, he had not yet married.

🔹 كَانَ طَالِبًا هُنَا عَلَى ما أَذْكُرُ

He used to be a student here as far as I remember.

👉Isim fa'il is present in phrases as nouns, adjectives and verbs.

👉The first example is ٌهذا طالب.
The second example is المَنزِل واسعٌ. While the third example is أنا كاتب الرِّسالَة.

🔸For the third example, The presence of isim fa'il as a verb .There is two situation for this.If it have Tanwin , the meaning and function are same as fi'il mudari'.
If not ,it is like fi'il madi.

✅ أنا كاتبٌ الرسالةَ = أنا أكتب الرسالة

✅ أنا كاتبُ الرسالةِ = أنا كتبت الرسالة

💡Lesson 5💡

👉When someone said شُكْرًا to us on what we gave to them whether it is help, service and so on, there are many replies that we can use. Among them:

✅أَهْلًا وَسَهْلًا

👉This phrase express that we are very happy with what we have gave to them , especially in the form of help or service.

🔺For example, when someone ask the road direction and you helped him , he said شُكْرًا (thank you). Then we answer "Ahlan wa sahlan" while smiling or placing the right hand on the upper part of the left chest.

How to say "skillful" in handling or doing something

👉In this context you can use these verbs :

أَجَادَ يُجِيدُ / أَحْسَنَ يُحْسِنُ / أَتْقَنَ يُتْقِنُ

Ajaada – yujiidu / Ahsana – yuhsinu / Atqana – yutqinu

🔸 Example sentence:

🔹 a) He is not good at speaking Arabic.

هُوَ لَمْ يُجِدْ / يُحْسِنْ / يُتْقِنْ اللُّغَةَ الْعَرَبِيَّةَ

🔹 b) He is not good at driving.

هُوَ لَا يُحْسِنُ / يُجِيدُ / يُتْقِنُ الْقِيَادَةَ

🔹 c) He is not good at acting.

لَمْ يُحْسِنْ التَّصَرُّفَ / لَمْ يُتْقِنْهُ / لَمْ يُجِدْهُ

🔹 d) I'm not good at cooking.

لَا أُتْقِنُ الطَّبْخَ / لَا أُحْسِنُهُ / لَا أُجِيدُهُ

How to say I'm ready to help you

🔸تَحْتَ أَمْرِكَ

👉 Literally this expression means:

"Under your command".

👉It means I'm ready to lend a hand / just give me instructions I'm ready to help / Instructions accepted / I'm Sir ! ,etc.

🔸 أَهْلًا وَسَهْلًا تَحْتَ أَمْرِكَ

"I'm ready to help."

🔸 أَهْلًا وَسَهْلًا أَنا تَحْتَ أَمْرِكَ فِي أَيِّ وَقْتٍ

"I am ready to help at any time".
