Last Thursday, our students of the English Language & Literature department had the privilege of attending an outstanding performance of King Lear at the Egyptian National Theatre, led by the legendary Egyptian actor Yehia El Fakharany.
The performance was exceptionally professional and deeply engaging, offering students a rare opportunity to experience Shakespeare’s tragedy brought vividly to life on stage.
Field trips like this play an essential role in connecting our students to live drama performances, enriching their academic understanding of literary texts while also strengthening their cultural awareness and appreciation of Egyptian theatrical excellence.
Moments like these remind us that learning thrives when theory meets practice—and when classrooms extend into real cultural spaces.

A Special Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum!
Last week, the department's senior Literature students had the wonderful opportunity to visit the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum—a true treasure of history, culture, and human creativity.
As part of their learning journey, students explored Egypt’s rich heritage, connecting the stories of the past with the literature and ideas they study in class. The visit offered them a deeper understanding of the narratives, symbols, and legacies that continue to shape our world today.
We look forward to more enriching experiences that bring learning to life beyond the classroom.
