An outstanding example of international collaboration and student-centered learning in action.
As part of the International Week of Staff Mobility hosted by the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland, in May 2026, students representing multiple nationalities participated in a series of academic activities and competitions designed to foster innovation, critical thinking, and cross-cultural collaboration.
One of the highlights was an AI project competition designed and facilitated by Dr. Rehab Rabiee and Dr. Engy ElHawary, where students worked in diverse international teams to develop creative and impactful AI-based solutions.
In parallel, Dr. Israa Lewaa conducted a separate competition focused on statistical analysis, where students applied quantitative methods and analytical techniques to interpret data and derive meaningful insights, further strengthening their analytical and problem-solving skills.
The activities concluded with the recognition of outstanding student teams, who were awarded Egyptian souvenirs as symbols of achievement and cultural appreciation.
These successful initiatives demonstrate the impact of the student-centered teaching and learning approach of The British University in Egypt beyond the boundaries of the classroom. Through international academic partnerships, The British University in Egypt continues to promote innovative educational practices that empower students to collaborate across cultures, develop global perspectives, and apply their knowledge in meaningful and impactful ways.
The experience stands as a testament to The British University in Egypt’s commitment to excellence in higher education and its dedication to fostering international engagement, academic innovation, and transformative learning experiences.

Congratulations to our outstanding teaching assistant, Merna Metwally, on representing Egyptian youth studying economics in the UK at a prestigious event hosted by the Egyptian Cultural & Educational Bureau in London.
We are especially proud of her opportunity to engage with Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, FREcon, United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, former IMF Executive Director, and former Senior Vice President of the World Bank Group, as well as H.E. Ambassador Ashraf Swelam, whose support for young voices and future leaders is truly inspiring.
This remarkable experience reflects the excellence, ambition, and global outlook of our Economics students. Well done, Mirna!

The PRME Africa Entrepreneurship Competition: Capacity-Building Programme continued its enriching journey across the final two sessions, offering participants a comprehensive and applied learning experience in core business planning dimensions.
The sessions explored key pillars of venture development, beginning with Operations and Human Resource Planning, led by Dr. Marwa Ibrahim, followed by insightful Marketing Plans delivered by our distinguished alumni Dr. Sarah Boktor, Dr. Jailan Sarhan, and Mr. Ramez from L’Oréal, bridging academic learning with industry practice.
The second day focused on Operations Planning, presented by Dr. Zeinab Younis and Dr. Bassant Adel, followed by a deep dive into Financial Planning led by Dr. Rania Abdelfattah and Dr. Dalia Elmosalmy.
Across both sessions, participants engaged in a thoughtful and practice-oriented learning experience, strengthening their ability to translate ideas into structured, impactful, and sustainable business plans.
