From Student to Coach – A Journey of Growth and Gratitude

I started out this journey back in 2018.

I still remember my very first day at the

AUC campus, being warmly welcomed by

Maha Fakhry Moussa Chief of Party of

the University Centers for Career

Development (UCCD) project — an

initiative of unprecedented scale in USAID

Egypt’s history, if I may say so.

I had the privilege of being coached by the

incredible AUC Career Center team at the

time: the lady herself, Maha Guindi the

lovely Dalia Awad the ever-vibrant Leidya Boutros FCD-MT, CCSP, MBTI, SII, HNCP

and the amazing Maha El Moslemany

Forgive me if I missed any names — each

of you has left a mark on my heart and

played a role in this journey.

I started as an aspiring student in the

Facilitating Career Development program,

determined to become a career coach.

Today, after an incredible learning journey

and mentorship under the inspiring Ellen Weaver Paquette, Career Counselor ,

NCDA Master of Career Services, I am

proud to be certified to coach future

career coaches.

It has been a long and fulfilling path —

from a student of Career Development to a

“teacher.” 😊

I would have never completed this journey

without the encouragement and constant

support of my mentor, Maha. I still

remember wanting to step away from the

training, overwhelmed by my PhD

program… but she didn’t let me give up.

She insisted, she supported — and now, I

When you’re tired learn to rest, not quit 💪

Sometimes lack of productivity is because you

are trying to do so much whilst you should do

a little bit less with a little more focus ❤️

ساعات الدنيا بتخلينا نجرى حوالين نفسنا و نحاول

نحقق حاجات كتير و نعمل حاجات كتير فى يومنا، لما

تتعب ريح بس ما تستسلمش… متعك الصغيرة هى اللى

هتخليك تقدر تكمل ❤️مش لازم تكمل فى كل حاجة،

بس كمل فى الحاجات المهمة بشغف و تركيز اكبر

Have a lovely weekend the way you choose it to be:

Calm and serene or busy and energetic or maybe a little bit of both 😍

10 Lessons learned in 2023:

-Your parents and siblings are more important than your friends (sorry!) you can replace a friend but you can not replace family,spend as much time as you can with them

-Some people will hate you no matter how much you help or love them, not because they are bad people they simply hate themselves and that reflects on their relationships and friendships … not your business, step away

-Invest in your health , physically, mentally and in every possible way you can at the end of the day you are YOUR universe

-Stick to people who choose you, those who have seen you in your worst version, best version, broken version and still love you all the same (my childhood friends in my case)you know yourselves ❤️

-Be flexible but not too flexible that you change yourself inside out to fit a position, a place, some people … etc, be yourself and the right people will adapt and the right places will welcome you!

-Resting is as important as being productive, I learned to rest!

- Stay curious, eager to learn, hungry for life and don’t lose your passion

- Not every fight is worth it, sometimes the best win is when you choose not to fight and save your energy for the worthy ones

-Gratitude can turn everything into a blessing, if you’re never grateful you will never enjoy any of your blessings and won’t even notice them

-Believe in yourself and believe yourself!
