📢 Upcoming Event: SAFER 1st Transnational Project Meeting (TPM1)! 🇬🇷🌱
We’re excited to announce that the SAFER consortium will meet in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 9–11 June 2026 for the 1st Transnational Project Meeting, hosted by the International Hellenic University (IHU).
Over these three days, partners will work together on:
✅ project coordination and planning
✅ curriculum development and digital learning
✅ stakeholder engagement and community actions
✅ dissemination, inclusivity, and sustainability
✅ key deliverables and next project steps
The agenda also includes a study visit to Alpha Lavender – Multifunctional Farm & Experiences and a dedicated session on D5.1 All-inclusive Distribution and Inclusion Strategy led by AASTMT.

🌱🚀 Introducing SAFER (Sustainable Agri-Futures)!
We’re excited to announce SAFER — Sustainable Agri-Futures: Empowering Climate Resilience and Green Growth in Higher Education — an international Erasmus+ CBHE project bringing together partners from Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Egypt, and Jordan. 🌍🤝
🎯 Our objectives:
✅ Educate students and professionals on sustainable farming practices
✅ Expand access to learning through digital technologies
✅ Strengthen international collaboration to share knowledge on climate-smart agriculture
📌 By the end of the project, SAFER aims to:
🔹 Integrate 5 innovative digital tools/platforms in each partner country
🔹 Train 500 individuals across partner nations
🔹 Introduce 20 practical sustainable farming practices in each project country

📣 SAFER Monthly Steering Committee Meeting — Keeping the Project Moving! ✅🌱
On Thursday, 22 January 2026, the SAFER consortium held its Monthly Steering Committee (SC) Meeting online via Microsoft Teams from 12:00–13:30 (EET).
The meeting focused on coordination across key work areas:
• WP1 (IHU): Project management, financial matters, monitoring & evaluation
• WP2 (UZHNU): Research surveys and workshop planning on climate change & sustainable agriculture challenges
• WP5 (AASTMT): Dissemination & inclusivity plan, marketing materials, stakeholder/community engagement, and upcoming workshops
This meeting ensures smooth project progress and sets the stage for the next steps in strengthening sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and higher education cooperation.

🚀 The SAFER Project Is Officially Underway! 🌱🌍

On 19 November 2025, the SAFER consortium successfully held its Kick-off Meeting online (via Microsoft Teams), marking the official start of the project.

The meeting included:

A welcome address from IHU
A comprehensive project overview presented by Achilleas Kontogeorgos (IHU)
A dedicated session with the European Commission Project Officer, Paul Harris
Partner introductions and detailed planning of the first six months of implementation across WP1–WP5, covering milestones, deliverables, risk management, and collaboration processes
This meeting set a strong foundation for an exciting journey aimed at strengthening education, cooperation, and capacity building in sustainable agriculture and climate resilience across SAFER partner countries. 🌾💡
