How long does it really take to learn Russian?

This is the most common question we get from new students — and the honest answer is: it depends. But the official TORFL standards give us real numbers to plan with.

Three things change the timeline:
→ your native language
→ the intensity of your study
→ how much you practice outside class.

🧩And that last one is where intensive courses really make the difference. In our program in Tallinn, every week you get 25 hours of structured lessons plus 5 hours of cultural and social activities — because lessons build the foundation, but it’s the practice outside the classroom that turns knowledge into real, living language.

Today Orthodox Christians around the world celebrate Пасха — Easter, a holiday full of tradition, warmth, and colour.

This summer, we’re running our Russian intensive in Tallinn again — six weeks, small groups of 3 to 6 people, and a teacher who adapts every lesson to where you actually are.

Mornings are for classes. Afternoons are for the city — museums, workshops, tastings, walks, all guided in Russian and all included in the price.

❄️ 4 weeks of Russian immersion in a winter fairytale!

4 weeks, a small group of motivated students, and Tallinn at its most beautiful — covered in snow.
Every morning we met in the classroom for intensive practice-focused lessons. Speaking, discussing, role-playing real situations — Russian from the very first day. Every afternoon and evening, the city became our classroom too.

We walked through the snow-covered Old Town, visited an Orthodox icon painting studio, attended a musical at the Russian Theatre, cooked Russian salad together, had blini at our teacher’s home, explored a winter forest, and discovered a Russian Old Believers’ house at the open-air museum. All in Russian.

In 4 weeks, our students didn’t just study Russian. They used it every single day.

We’re now looking forward to summer!
