THE HISTORY OF BURLESQUE in ESTONIA

2011
Burlesque scene started growing in Estonia thanks to Helsinki Burlesque Festival and Bettie Blackheart.

Burlesque Estonia on mittetulundusühing, mis tegeleb Eesti burleskikultuuri hoidmise ja arendamisega, koondades Eestis tegutsevaid burleskiartiste, korraldades koolitusi, regulaarseid trenne ja burlesque showsid. The information about Helsinki Burlesque Festival approached Müstika dancers and the word spread. The dancers were very excited to visit the festival to get to know what is this burlesque

really! Almost the next day Princess Farhana, the main performer of Helsinki Burlesque Festival 2011 contacted Müstika - apparently her grandfather was from Estonia! And she was very excited to visit our country! The next steps you can imagine... all agreed and done! :)

Together with Daisi Normak, Berit Vill and Müstika Magical Theatre brought the world famous burlesque star Princess Farhana (USA) to teach the first burlesque workshop in Estonia.The workshop had a glamourous afterparty "Mystical Burlesque Night" in Club Prive with local performing artists from Müstika Magical Theatre, our guest star Princess Farhana and our little surprise guest Pepper Sparkles from Finland. Daisi Normak alias Lady Daisy made her burlesque debute at the show as well. From March 2011 regular burlesque classes started with Daisi Normak in The Mystika Dance Studio in Tallinn. The second "Mystical Burlesque Night" took place at Club Prive in summer 2011 with LouLou D'Vil as the third burlesque star ever performing in Estonia. Müstika started the very first burlesque dance group that consisted of performers including Miss Chrissy Kiss, L D'Medichi & Malvina Rose coached by Lady Daisy. Burlesque got more popular as the girls were performing at various shows and parities.

2012
In spring Daisi Normak opened her own burlesque studio and ended her regular classes in Müstika Dance Studio. The new studio was called Tallinn Burlesque and organised various burlesque classes, workshops and events all over Estonia. The burlesque scene grew rapidly and soon there were more performers, more students and more shows.

2013
Tallinn Burlesque closed it's doors in spring due to Lady Daisy leaving her burlesque career. In fall Burlesque Estonia was created by Affinity Starr and Miss Redina. Burlesque Estonia started teaching regular burlesque classes in Müstika Tantsustuudio led by Foxy Suzy.

2014 - till now
The fist Sticky Nipples Revue show was held in 2014 May organised by Burlesque Estonia. This was a beginning of a show series which later became the biggest burlesque show in the Baltic's. The show features the best of Estonian performers, foreign burly stars and variety acts. In 2015 we started organizing the newcomer and debut night called New&Nuts, to promote the growth of the local burly scene. The show became a series which takes place once a year. Burlesque Estonia is currently the only burlesque agency in Estonia, organizing shows, classes, workshops and connecting all burlesque performers in Estonia.
