Tere! Anna from Australia here…

Usually Christmas for me means summer, BBQs and beach swims.

Here in Estonia, the first of December brought snow, hot drinks and big coats! One of the reasons I chose to come to Estonia was the idea of a White Christmas (or at least a cold one!). The Christmas season here starts so early with the city being decorated with beautiful lights and the roofs being covered in snow. The Old Town Christmas tree and markets is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever seen - walking around there I feel like I’m in a snow globe - just like one I've brought out every Christmas at home and only dreamed of experiencing.

In the photos below you can see the old town’s Christmas market. In all hours of the day the town square is filled with Christmas vibes and, my new favourite Christmas drink, Glögg. In the first picture, that’s what I'm drinking! The second and third pictures showcase the markets in daylight and third is the enormous Christmas tree with all its lights. In Australia I’d only ever worn beanies and scarves as a fashion accessory… but here they are a necessity (the fifth photo). Click to see more photos of the Tallinn Christmas Vibes!

I’m having such a great time in Estonia and this new Christmas experience is unbelievably amazing.

Merry Christmas everyone! Or… Häid Jõule kõigile!! 🎄🇪🇪

Tere! Minu nimi on Sophia. Ma olen 17 aastat vana ja näitan, mis mulle kõige rohkem meeldib Eestis.

I really love estonian nature but especially I love the sky😍
On my first evening in my hostfamily we went to Sauna from the window of the Sauna we could saw how beautiful the sun goes down! Unfortunately I didn't took a picture but since that I fall in love with the estonian sky. Sometimes the sky is so clear that I can see so many stars. On the second picture you can see a sunset in Kaiu. Me, my hostfamily and one other exchange with her hostfamily was hiking there and it was so beautiful!!

On the third picture you can the the sunset from my home in Estonia and in the last picture is the view from the window from our Sauna. I love Sauna too. My hostfamily has a Lake next to our House and we always go in the water for a short time, but it's so cold! On the second picture you can see a part of the lake. I can't imagine how they want to do it in the winter when it's really cold!❄️

But I enjoy my hostyear and I'm so happy to be here!😇😇

Tsau! My name is Viktoria and I am 17 Years old and I am an exchange from Germany. I go to "Tallinna 21. Kool", which is a pretty big school for Estonia. I am going to tell you something about my favorite school subjects and my schedule in general. Averagely I have 8 lessons a day, so the days are quite long. At the moment I have 5 lessons of Physics, 10 lessons of english (5 lessons of regular english and 5 lessons of tour guiding), 3 lessons russian, 2 lessons spanish, 5 lessons of Mathematics and some electives. I do not have one particular favorite subject but i really like Choir, english class because of the teacher and spanish. I really do like these subjects because they make me feel that I am not an exchange student. And I can work with my classmates and discuss topics that are part of the lesson. I am really happy to be here and really happy that I go to the 21k, my classmates are so nice to me that I really enjoy going to school. Even though the waking up part in the morning is not my favorit.
I hope that I could give you a small impression of my school life :)

And here are some pictures of me.The first picuture shows me infront of the main entrance of my school. The second and thrid are showing the inside.

Halloween in Estonia: How Estonians Celebrate Halloween 09/11/2017

Maybe you have noticed that Halloween is not really an Estonian holiday and it is not celebrated in the way like it is in the US. Instead of Halloween, Estonians have their Mardipäev, the St. Martin's day. Read more in this article and happy Mardipäev to you all! 🎃🍁🎉

Halloween in Estonia: How Estonians Celebrate Halloween Halloween in Estonia is not massively celebrated, but fear not! Estonians have their own alternative to it and it might be even better!

Tere, tere!!!
Two months ago, I participated in the ethnic food festival as a representative of Japan. At that event, I taught and distributed origami to a lot of people. They were very interested in Japan and I was very happy! Also I am looking forward to participate in the event introducing Japanese culture this month! 😁
