The new version has been developing for months by our ceramic artist, Hanna Greta ceramic-arts. She is a specialist in using natural resources, and her knowledge has enabled us to combine the black stone-clay and lava crumbs into the fascinating Magma glasses. Each glass travels through more than a week long process in very small batches where every glass is handcrafted, resulting in each glass being unique.

Magma Iceland er frumkvöðlafyrirtæki sem var stofnað í Verzlunarskóla Íslands og framleiðir og selur minjagripi í formi skotglasa, handrenndum úr steinleir og hrauni.

The last couple of days have been really amazing for Magma. We are the winners of the JA-YE Company of the Year Competition 2014. In total approx. 250.000 students from all over the world participated in the program so it really is an honor for a team from Iceland to win the prize.

The competition was brilliant in all aspects. We want to thank the Estonians for welcoming us to their beautiful capital and all the staff, volunteers and alumni for really outstanding days which we'll never forget.

Our CEO, Sigurður Kristinsson, was also awarded the Alumni Leadership Award at the ceremony which is given to standout individuals competing at the competition.

Hraunið heillaði dómnefndina „Við erum nýútskrifaðir nemendur sem stöndum að þessu. Fimm okkar fóru út til Eistlands og þar vorum við að sigra frumkvöðlakeppnina Junior Achievement með fyrirtækið okkar,“ segir Sigurður Kristjánsson í liðinu Magma Iceland, en fyrirtækið framleiðir skotglös klædd með hrauni úr svörtum steinleir.
