Difference Between an Educational Game and a Teaching Strategy:
1. Educational Game:
An educational game is a learning activity presented in the form of a game.
It aims to make learning fun, interactive, and motivating.
It usually has rules, goals, and sometimes competition.
It is often used for practice, reinforcement, revision, or assessment.
Examples: Bingo, Board Race, Tic-Tac-Toe, Missing Flashcard, Word Jumble Race.
2. Teaching Strategy:
A teaching strategy is an organized plan used by the teacher to achieve learning objectives.
It provides a broader framework for organizing the teaching _ learning process.
It can be used throughout a lesson, sequence, or several lessons.
It determines how learners will interact, collaborate, solve problems, and construct knowledge.
Examples: Cooperative Learning, Jigsaw Strategy, Differentiated Instruction, Project-Based Learning, Reciprocal Teaching,Brain storming,Group work....
Key Difference:
--A teaching strategy is broader, while an educational game is a specific learning activity.
-A game can be used as part of a teaching strategy.
Strategy = How will I organize learning?
Game = What activity will I use to make learners practise or learn?
