Everyone keeps bragging about using flashcards in the classroom but are we really using them effectively? Is it serving our sessions well ? What's their point?
As a group of teachers in Algerian public schools, we've had the chance to experiment with and adapt to different approaches and strategies - going from Grammar Translation and memorizing by heart to the Competency-Based Approach. 📚✨
Learning has become student-centered, and the teacher's role has shifted from being a resource and a sage of knowledge to being a guide and a motivator. This is where using flashcards plays a crucial role! 🎯
Students are now considered active learners and should be trained to become life-skilled individuals. Using flashcards and authentic visual aids fosters their recall strength and links their classroom activities to their outside-school lives. 🌍
In a real-life situation, it's not the passage that they remember, but the scene and the bingo card that they were challenged with in the classroom! 🎲✨
This is the true power of flashcards - they don't just make students play, but rather help them live the experience and learn in a practical, realistic way. 💡
