The Community for Learning offers a dynamic, personalized education from preschool through 12th grade. In Early Childhood and Elementary, every day begins with a good book.

During Visionary Reads, students and staff settle into classrooms and spaces around campus for 15 minutes of uninterrupted reading. Some quickly bury themselves in their novels. Others simply listen as the story unfolds, studying the drawings or watching each picture bloom into a story of its own.

At a time when reading comprehension continues to decline globally, we are putting intentional systems in place to help our students grow into curious, thoughtful, and confident readers.

Visionary Reads is a simple daily structure with a big purpose: to help students regulate, activate their brains, and make reading a consistent part of their school day. Because we believe something happens in those fifteen minutes that no other routine could ever achieve.

As the pages turn and the room falls quiet, a lifelong learner is being made. Somewhere in that stillness, an early reader is already becoming a visionary.

After weeks of learning, attending workshops, and exchanging tools as educators, we’re ready to bring those ideas into our classrooms.

One day left until our students officially arrive to campus!

A special thank you to Dr. Maribel for refreshing our first aid training and helping us revisit the knowledge and skills that keep our community safe.

We’d also like to thank Raquel and Andrea Garrido from Primi Passi for reminding us of what becomes possible when we make space for the world to enter the classroom.

Among artifacts, evidence, and traces of learning, they led a powerful workshop on real-world projects based on Bruner’s Spiral Curriculum.

We can’t wait to welcome our students back, and with them, the real-world connections that make learning come alive.

We were featured in Diario Libre! 🗞️

Seven years ago, our teachers found themselves competing with smartphones for our student’s attention. We kept asking: How can we create a classroom where students can be fully present? This led us to rethink what a classroom could feel like and ultimately to Yonder Pouches. As Visionaries, we saw an opportunity to reimagine the way our students learn.

In 2019, we chose classrooms where screens didn’t take space from learning.

This year, the Ministry of Education (MINERD) introduced national guidelines (Orden Departamental 011-2026) limiting students’ use of mobile devices in schools across the Dominican Republic.

These guidelines recognize something we have been exploring for years: a way to protect learning, connection, and attention in a time when technology is part of everyday life.

At TCFL, our classrooms are filled with curious eyes, and hands reaching for books. A feeling of connection. Belonging. And conversations that wander.

We celebrated the start of a new school year with a special panel about raising visionaries. A conversation that gave our new families the opportunity to meet our directors, hear their perspectives, and learn more about the thinking behind what we do.

On stage, we explored what structure looks like at TCFL, how we create space for student agency, and how our philosophy comes to life in our classrooms.

To every parent who joined us, shared a question through the form, and listened, we were so grateful to have you with us. At TCFL, we value these conversations, not only because because it bring us closer to our families but because they help us begin the school year connected as a community.

The warmth, energy, and excitement of another school year are here! 💓

Today we welcomed our teachers, both new and returning to prepare for new year of learning.

We practiced collaboration, communication, presence, leadership, critical-thinking, and learning through play. But most importantly, we reconnected with our teaching philosophy and the why, the purpose that calls us every year to inspire, nurture, and create meaningful learning experiences for every child.
