Motor Development and Learning for Early Years and Primary School Educators. We expect our children to naturally develop the ability to be ready to go to school and sit in a chair (and remain there for as long as we request them to do it). However, sitting in a chair, reading, writing, following instructions and controlling their behaviour are tasks that call upon the organisation of many different experiences of the learning process.
Children initially learn from external experiences. The greater the variety of experiences, the greater the ability and therefore the more confident a child becomes. Without experiences, development is stilted or remains immature.
The course comprises of the following key areas:
A detailed working knowledge of how, retained reflexes and sensory processing of information, from our body and our environment impacts the learning in children.
You will be given the opportunity to develop an understanding on how the learning process manifests itself in children's behaviour.
