Today is the children’s last day of school, and at many public schools, it’s a tradition to sing "ferie, ferie, ferie" ("holiday, holiday, holiday") on the last day.
We used to sing it every last day of school when I went to "folkeskole" from 1995 to 2005, and they still do it at my daughter’s school today.

⚠️ The one with 💩 is considered rude.

A softer (but less common) version is:

👉 "Det vil jeg blæse på!" ("I will blow on that!")

In Danish, 'at tabe' can mean both 'to lose' and 'to drop' - and it shows up in lots of everyday expressions🇩🇰

I could tell that some people thought I'd 'tabt sutten' when I posted about 'taking a grandpa'😂

By the way, I've noticed this expression gets used in a few different ways. Do you use it in the same way I do here?

The four phrases I use all the time:

"Er det rigtigt?" – as a reaction to something surprising

"Ej, hvor fedt!" – as a reaction to something really good

"Ej, hvor træls!" – as a reaction to something bad or annoying

"Hvad for noget?" – when I didn’t hear what was said
