Vessel (2025)
Fiber Light Sculpture

Vessel is the intersection of illumination and soft sculpture through handloom weaving. Fine thread and abaca fiber are shaped by controlled vertical tension, allowing natural irregularities in the weave to remain visible. As light emerges from within, the surface shifts from opacity to a measured translucence, revealing the rhythms of the loom.

The tapering silhouette references the forms of fish traps and carrying vessels—structures designed to contain, guide, and protect—abstracted into a restrained, suspended geometry. In this state, Vessel becomes both container and presence, a study in fragility, suspension, and the refinement of handmade structure.
