Todays topic: Castles !
There are about 25,000 castles in Germany. Some in ruins, some open to the public, few still privately owned, fewer still not open for tours. No one knows exactly what the oldest castle is, but here are a few of them.

towns of Triberg and Wolfach in Germany's Black Forest. The Black Forest is a mountainous region in southwest Germany, bordering France. Known for its dense, evergreen forests and picturesque villages, it is often associated with the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. It's renowned for its spas and the cuckoo clocks produced in the region since the 1700s. In the the world's largest cuckoo clock, found in Triberg, Germany, the cuckoo bird alone is 14 feet long and weighs 330 pounds.
Triberg Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany with a descent of 163 m, and is a landmark in the Black Forest region. Above Triberg, in the midst of Black Forest, the Gutach river plunges over seven major steps from a gently undulated high plain into a rocky V-shaped valley. The Dorotheenhütte in Wolfach is the last glassworks in the Black Forest that still manufactures mouth blown glass. You can watch the glassblowers and glass grinders at work, have a look in the engraving studio and take a stroll through the large glass country presenting a great selection of decorative articles and gift ideas for a perfectly laid table. In the Christmas village adorned accordingly all year round you will enjoy the festive season‘s atmosphere.

Did you know that Germany is a Federal Parliamentary Republic, the 7th largest country in Europe with 83 Mil inhabitants, has the 4th largest Economy by nominal GDP - the 5th largest by PPP, is the 3rd largest exporter & importer of goods, the 4th largest investor in the US, is a highly developed country with very high standard of living, offers Social Security & Universal Health Care system, Environmental Protection and offers Tuition free University education - even for International students; all while being slightly smaller than the State of Montana!!
