The interior controls of the can be used to plan trips and display information about the current status of the vehicle. At the same time, the vehicle is equipped with various comfort and functions.
User-specific interfaces have been designed for some of the controls to provide a fully customized experience.
In addition to a standard user interface, there is a senior user and a children's user interface so that everyone can enjoy their automated rides in our vehicle.
The autoSHUTTLE offers space for up to eight people and is part of a new, improved public system. Optimally adapted to the needs of users at all times, it represents the public transport system of the future.
An intelligent routing system is designed to shorten travel times on local public transport, and the interior of the vehicles can also be adapted to the passenger volume as required.
During the ride with the autoSHUTTLE, you will experience agile driving maneuvers such as turning on the spot thanks to wheel-specific steering with the dynamics modules. You will also see a of how the vehicle can still safely navigate through traffic even after a functional failure thanks to capability-based route planning.

All four vehicles are equipped with identical sensor modules mounted at their corners for environment .
They are independent modules in terms of their mechanical design and mechatronic function, contributing to the service-oriented software design for fully automated and driverless operation in urban environments.

Speaking of : Low-barrier access is provided by a fully automated and service-oriented underfloor lift.
The lift's control signals are sent via a server integrated into the vehicle's interior, and ultrasonic sensors installed on the lift are designed to detect obstacles as the platform extends to avoid collisions.

Our parcel service of tomorrow - instead of the variable interior for up to eight people, as in the autoSHUTTLE, the autoCARGO is equipped with handling technology for parcels and a storage area. Here, the parcels are safely loaded and unloaded with a special articulated-arm robot. The parcels are stacked in the exchangeable loading container and can thus be unloaded and loaded in the parcel center in a short time.
At present, tests are still being carried out on the autoCARGO, which is why the so-called test driver's workstation is still in place of the loading container. However, this will be removed again in the near future.

How time flies - last week, our seventeenth and last consortium meeting took place in Aachen - where it all began a good five years ago.
We are in the hot phase of planning the final event and, as part of the workshop, we also visited the Aldenhoven Testing Center, where the event will take place on May 11.
