Have you ever needed a toolkit that brings peace education and sustainability together? 🌱🕊️

We did too. 🫣

As educators, we often found ourselves moving between these two fields. We have been either talking about peace, conflict and social justice in one space, and sustainability, climate and our relationship with the planet in another.

But these conversations are deeply connected.

That question became the starting point for Active Peace Education project. A project that is bringing peace education and sustainability into the same learning space, and turning that connection into practical educational tools.

Now, after months of creating, testing and learning together, THE TOOLKIT IS READY! 💚

Join us on 24 September for an online presentation where we’ll share the story behind the project, explore some of the activities and, most importantly, show you how you can use the toolkit in your own educational work.

🎲 YOUR TURN is an Erasmus+ project where youth workers from across Europe will explore Roma inclusion and turn what they learn into an educational board game.
We invited experts working directly with Roma communities and Weronika Szatkowska — researcher, game designer and PhD candidate at Uppsala University, specialising in gamification and participatory design. In short: she seriously knows how to turn complex topics into great games. 🎯

We are calling young peacebuilders from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Italy, Germany, and Spain to join the next chapter of Amani Pamoja - Peace Together: a cross-continental training course on advocacy and dialogue skills for peace.

During the training, you will:
🕊️ Strengthen your skills in peace advocacy and policy dialogue
🕊️ Explore how young people can influence decisions related to peace and security
🕊️ Learn more about the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda
🕊️ Exchange experiences and approaches with young peacebuilders from six countries
🕊️ Develop skills for social and political advocacy on peace issues
🕊️ Build meaningful partnerships within an intercontinental learning alliance
🕊️ Practice engaging political representatives and participating in decision-making spaces

📍 Where: Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain
📅 When: 27 November–3 December 2026, including travel days
💻 Online meetings: Three meetings during October and November
👥 Participants: 30 young peacebuilders from six African and European countries

Who can apply?

You should:

✨Be between 18 - 29 years old (Europe), 18 - 35 years old (Africa)
✨ Be legally resident in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Italy, Germany, or Spain
✨ Be part of a youth-led or youth-focused group or organisation
✨ Have at least a B2 level of English
✨ Be motivated to apply the learning within your organisation/community

Priority will be given to young people who have had limited opportunities to participate in international exchange programmes or who face barriers to accessing such activities.

💸 Travel, accommodation, food, and training materials are covered through the Erasmus+ grant. Please note that some additional expenses, such as visa fees or specific insurance coverage, may not be fully covered.

Are you interested in peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, and social cohesion? Do you want to learn how to transform conflicts constructively and challenge prejudice, stereotypes, and "othering" in your community? Then join us!

"Conflictual Potentials – Training Courses on Conflict Transformation and Combating Othering" is looking for 25 youth workers, leaders, activists, educators, and changemakers to strengthen their competencies in nonviolent conflict transformation, intercultural understanding, and combating othering.

Participants will explore practical tools such as conflict analysis, Nonviolent Communication, active listening, empathy, alternative narratives, and intercultural learning, while becoming part of an international network of young peacebuilders.

☮️ How can we talk more about peace, abd why do we talk so much about war?

🕊From May 4th to 11th 2026, a group of 28 people from all over Europe spent a week at the small lake-side town of Évian to discuss how the narratives we are surrounded by in our life might promote, but also prevent, violence.

🎤 We understood what violence, peace and human rights are, and understood what narratives are and what power they have over our lives. We learned to recognise and anslyse the narratives that surround us, understand if they are peaceful or violent, why and for who's benefit. We dived into what role AI and fake news play in the spreading of harmful narratives.

💡But most importantly, we learned to take action into our own hands. We discussed how we can create our own peaceful narratives, find and promote existing peaceful narratives and collectively shift the discourse to be more peaceful and human. We learned to flip the script.

The training course Critical Lens: Media Literacy for Human Rights, Peace and Tackling Migration Disinformation is finalised! The project brought together 30 youth workers, trainers and educators living in Germany, Poland, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Türkiye, Cyprus, and Lithuania — all motivated to strengthen competencies to navigate and engage with the digital information landscape critically, challenge prejudice and discrimination and become multipliers for more informed, inclusive, and peaceful societies.

For that, the project focused on migration narratives, a topic intertwined with human rights, social cohesion, and democratic values, and further equipped youth workers with competencies to mitigate polarised perceptions, counter hate speech and disinformation in our societies.

Each step of the process aimed for a clearer understanding of the role of media in shaping perceptions — and how youth workers, educators and trainers can actively join in efforts to promote Media and Information Literacy among young people and others, foster intercultural dialogue and pluralism and contribute to more balanced and human rights-based narratives online.

💡 The learning does not stop here!
Critical Lens continues to grow through the actions of its participants! Our participants are now back in their local contexts, translating their experiences into concrete follow-up actions, including workshops, campaigns, podcasts and educational activities, empowering others to make MIL a life competence for their futures.

With everything happening in the World right now, how can we talk about peace? 🕊📢☮️

Last week, in the second part of the FLARE training of trainers, 25 young people from Kosovo, Spain, Cyprus, France, Germany, Portugal and Italy gathered back in Evian-les-Bains, France to discuss about communication tools for peace, narratives and their role as trainers and leaders of change in their communities.

We had an amazing week with very insightfull learnings! Here are some of them: ⬇️

📢 We explored how to build narratives of peace instead of narratives of conflict, and how to transform the narratives surrounding us to focus on positive transformation.
📢 We discussed several ways to disseminate peace activities and denounce injustice through creativity and participation!
📢 We reflected on our role as trainers, how to transform conflicts around us and organize activities that address issues affecting young people.
📢 Participants had their space to practice and share their knowledge with their peers, which resulted in very informative sessions on narrative and theater of the oppressed tools for communication, trauma-informed dialogue, safe space creation, public speaking and self-care as trainers.

💫In total, combining with the last training in December, we have explored how to improve our skills as peacebuilders, how to organize effective activities that help improve the lives of people in our communities and how to use communication tools to change the narratives of conflict dominating our societies. What a journey!
