The Philippines and Italy have signed a new Driver’s License Conversion Protocol, updating the existing agreement and making license conversion easier for eligible Filipino drivers.

🚗 Once the Protocol enters into force, eligible residents can convert their valid Philippine driver’s license without theoretical or practical exams, subject to the applicable residence requirements.

📌 The Protocol is not yet in force. Further announcements and FAQs will be issued once implementation begins.

GERMANY EYES MORE FILIPINO CAREGIVERS

Germany has proposed a new training pathway that could allow qualified Filipino caregivers to work as nursing assistants.

Under the proposed Global Skills Partnership, participants would complete 18 months of training, gain one year of work experience in the Philippines, earn a B1-level German language certificate, and undergo hospital training before possible deployment to Germany.

Montenegro is the EU's most advanced accession candidate. 🇲🇪🇪🇺

Last week, we reached a significant milestone on Montenegro's path to EU membership.

A dedicated working group has been established to begin drafting Montenegro's Treaty of Accession— the legally binding document that will define the terms of its entry into the European Union.

This is the first time such a step has been taken since Croatia's accession in 2013.

Here is where things stand today 👇
→ 14 of 33 chapters provisionally closed
→ Finalising and approving the accession treaty
→ Signature and ratification by all 27 EU Member States
→ Montenegro is aiming for membership by 2028

Montenegro is the Western Balkan country closest to becoming an EU member, and we remain fully committed to its European future.

Even in moments when things felt uncertain, when tears were quietly falling, you would still smile and say, “Si Papa Jesus na bahala, Ms. Loreen” (“Papa Jesus will take care of everything now, Ms. Loreen”). And somehow, that faith carried us through every challenge.

From doubts and delays to finally achieving your successful conversion from a 1-year Au Pair visa to a 3-year Ausbildung residence permit in Germany, your journey is a living proof that strong faith and a cheerful heart can move mountains.
