Looking back at another MICC School session during our anniversary year!

From November 17th to November 24th, 2025, we held the fourth MICC – Model International Criminal Court program activity of this special year in Krzyżowa, Poland.

This MICC School brought together 55 students and teachers from Italy, Germany, Poland and the USA, who spent an intensive week engaging with questions of international justice, human rights, individual and collective responsibility. Through simulations, workshops and dialogue-based formats, participants explored the functioning of international criminal law and reflected on its relevance in today’s world.

Taking place in our 20th anniversary year, this encounter carried a particular significance. Once again, Krzyżowa offered a unique space for learning, critical debate and meaningful exchange across borders.

The activity was organized by Kreisau-Initiative e.V. in cooperation with Fundacja Krzyżowa dla Porozumienia Europejskiego / Stiftung Kreisau. This session was co-funded by the European Union and the Erasmus+ Programme, Reinhard Frank Foundation and Freya von Moltke-Stiftung für das Neue Kreisau.

Since 2006, MICC University has brought together university students from around the world to explore the principles, challenges and real dilemmas of international criminal law.
In a unique, interactive simulation, participants take on the roles of prosecutors, defence attorneys, judges and journalists to work on both real and fictional cases inspired by contemporary global issues.

For one week in Krzyżowa – a historic place of dialogue, resistance and European reconciliation, you will:

We are proud to share “Faces of MICC”, a special short movie created together with alumni from across two decades of the Model International Criminal Court Program. Filmed during the MICC 20th Anniversary Conference in Berlin, this movie brings together voices, stories and reflections from young people who shaped and continue to shape, the MICC community.

Over seven days, alumni from different generations came together to speak about justice, responsibility, dialogue and what MICC has meant in their personal and professional lives. Their stories remind us why this program is more than a simulation, it is a space where young people learn to question, to listen and to imagine a fairer world.

“Faces of MICC” celebrates 20 years of learning, debating, connecting and growing. It is a tribute to everyone who has taken part in MICC since 2005 and a powerful message for the next generation.

Looking back at one of unforgettable exchanges in our anniversary year!

From May 3rd to May 10th, 2025, we successfully held the third MICC – Model International Criminal Court program activity of this year in Krzyżowa, Poland.

The MICC School brought together 50 students and teachers from Germany, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia, who spent a week diving deep into questions of justice, human rights and responsibility. Through simulations, workshops and dialogue, participants explored how international criminal law works – and why it matters today more than ever.

This memorable week took place in the special context of our 20th anniversary year, making the experience even more meaningful. The spirit of Krzyżowa once again proved to be the perfect place for young people to learn, debate and grow together.

The activity was organized by Kreisau-Initiative e.V. in cooperation with Fundacja Krzyżowa dla Porozumienia Europejskiego / Stiftung Kreisau and was co-funded by the European Union and the Erasmus+ Programme.
