Corruption in Kosovo is endemic. Notwithstanding massive international assistance and ad hoc funds transparency and accountability in the judicial system lag far behind. This is an article of mine, I wrote for a research project I am working on behalf of the Pristina-based Kosovo Foundation for Open Society. It is in French though:

KOSOVO: Women continue to face discrimination on the labour market [i.e., recruitment mainly in the private sector, promotion, pay, contract length, maternity leave (i.e., Limited access to childcare and flexible working arrangements) and sexual harassment at work), access to finance, ownership of property and access to justice. They are underrepresented, especially in decision-making positions, both in private and public institutions. The situation is even more serious in rural areas.

The conflict in the southern Caucasus is almost completely forgotten in the West. Armenia and Azerbaijan compete for their control of the Nagorno-Karabach territory.
