Our Round Square delegation from Louisenlund is having an incredible time at the Round Square Conference in Kigali.

Before heading to the Round Square conference, our delegation, along with a group from Denmark, spent meaningful time at our partner school, . They played sports, experienced Rwandan culture, and embraced the Louisenlund pedagogy in a whole new environment. 🌍🤝

The Greenhills Round Square Conference unites students from 14 schools across Africa, Australia, the UK, Denmark, and Germany. With a focus on environmentalism & adventure, delegates are diving into insightful discussions, group projects, and Rwanda’s incredible sustainability efforts. 🌱💡

📍 Highlights include visits to the Genocide Memorial sites, Akagera National Park, and Musanze Caves, offering students a deep dive into history, resilience, and breathtaking landscapes. 🏞️🔥

🪭Celebrating diversity – a core value at Louisenlund! This week ten of our students had the special opportunity to attend the grand Chinese New Year concert at the . The renowned Chinese National Traditional Orchestra invited us to welcome the Year of the Dragon together. 🐉

Our teacher, Huiru Hu, perfectly captured the essence of the evening: “Music is a language without borders. It was a wonderful evening filled with beautiful music and an amazing audience! The most special moment for me was when, after a short practice with the moderator, we wished the Chinese orchestra ‘Happy New Year’ in Chinese as a choir. The orchestra responded with ‘All the best for the New Year’ in German. Blessing someone in their own language is the greatest expression of goodwill towards their culture.” ✨

An unforgettable night that reminded us once again how music builds bridges and connects people.

On October 3rd, our KISS group embarked on an unforgettable trip to Schwerin! The students immersed themselves in German culture and history while celebrating the Day of German Unity. A highlight for many was getting to see Olaf Scholz and Frank-Walter Steinmeier up close during the parade! 🤩

The event also offered a variety of stands, showcasing the work of the federal states, the Technical Emergency Service .de , and many other organizations, ensuring there was something for everyone to explore. KISS which stands for Kultur, Integration, Sprache & Spaß (Culture, Integration, Language & Fun), is our programme designed to help international students connect with and learn more about Germany. 🌍

Am 03.10. machte unsere KISS-Gilde einen spannenden Ausflug nach Schwerin! 🎉 Unsere Schüler und Schülerinnen haben viel über die Deutsche Kultur und den Tag der Deutschen Einheit gelernt. Besonders beeindruckend: Eine Parade mit Olaf Scholz und Frank-Walter Steinmeier!

Neben zahlreichen Ständen, die spannende Einblicke in die Arbeit der Bundesländer, des THW und vieler weiterer Organisationen gaben, war für alle etwas dabei. KISS steht für Kultur, Integration, Sprache & Spaß – unser Programm für Schüler und Schülerinnen aus unterschiedlichen Kulturen, um Deutschland besser kennenzulernen. 🌍

With around 130 athletes, the Louisenlund Cup in the Schlei was a great success ⛵️. Sailing took place in the Opti B, Opti C, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 and 29er classes. Some of our students also took part and achieved top places in the Optis 👍.
