Prof. Dr. Denise Margaret Matias, Overall Project Leader of ZooMap, will deliver a presentation on the importance of social-ecological systems and ecosystem services at the Mongolian University of Life Sciences in Ulaanbaatar on 24 September 2026, Thursday.

The presentation coincides with the ZooMap Consortium Meeting taking place this week in Ulaanbaatar to discuss key project outputs, reflect on our implementation progress, and identify priorities for the next stages of the project.

Congratulations to our ZooMap-supported Master's students, Azenegash (Azi) Abebe Belachew and Joey Ace Peralta, on the successful defense of their theses! 🎉

Azi examined the telecoupled dynamics of illegal pangolin trade across Africa and Asia, while Joey conducted GIS-based habitat suitability assessment for the Philippine pangolin in Palawan. We congratulate Azi and Joey on this important milestone, and wish them continued success in their future work!
