Last night, I had the privilege of leading a webinar in collaboration with .es that focused on coaching young people to support their mental health and wellbeing. We had a great turnout!
This webinar was held to celebrate International Coaching Week, which just happened to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week. So it was the perfect opportunity to bring together two of my greatest passions: coaching and the importance I place on mental health and wellbeing.
It was inspiring to see so many passionate coaches come together with a shared commitment to making a difference in young lives.
Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed. A special thanks to Elia Marcos García for her seamless and thoughtful translation into Spanish!

Bringing together International Coaching Week ………………and Mental Health Awareness Month.
Coaching and mental health intersect in their emphasis on empowering individuals to focus on what’s within their control. As we navigate the complexities of life, we often encounter circumstances that challenge our mental health. Amidst these challenges, lies an important and empowering realization – the recognition of what we can and cannot control. What else could be added to “what’s in my control”?

Bringing together ………………
How can the Co-Active Training Coaching Approach Promote Mental Health and Well-Being in our Young People today?
At its very simplest, Co-Active Coaching is grounded in what is termed an empowered relationship between the coach and the young person, where the main aim is not to change whothey are, but how they are. It focuses on guiding the young person to step into a space of who they need to “be”, alongside what they need to “do”, in order to achieve success, well-being and reach their full potential.
This blog post unpacks the importance of supporting the development of positive mental health in our young people through a Co-Active Coaching approach.

This week is International Coaching Week ………………and it is also Mental Health Awareness month. Two of my favourite themes coming together. As a firm believer in the power of coaching and an advocate for mental health and welling being in adolescents, I can’t think of a better week to place emphasis of addressing the holistic needs of our teenagers. Investing in the mental health and well-being of teenagers is critical for their long-term success and happiness. Here’s how coaching can play a supportive role:
🌱 Adolescence is a time of immense growth and development, both physically and emotionally. By adopting a coaching approach, we can empower teens to navigate this transformative period with confidence and resilience. Through active listening, empathy, and goal-setting, coaching provides a safe space for teenagers to explore their thoughts, feelings, and aspirations.
💡 One of the key advantages of coaching is its focus on strengths and solutions rather than problems. By helping teens identify their strengths and leverage them to overcome obstacles, coaching fosters a positive mindset and a sense of agency. This proactive approach equips adolescents with valuable life skills that they can carry into adulthood.
🤝 Coaching promotes healthy communication and relationships. By fostering trust and open dialogue, coaches create a supportive environment where teens feel heard and understood. This not only strengthens their self-esteem but also encourages them to seek help when needed and build meaningful connections with others.
