Hello dear people interested in fragrance and smell: we would like to point out to you an interesting website and an online event from our friend Prof. Dr. Claus Noppeney. He works at the Institute for Innovation and Strategic Entrepreneurship (IISE) in Bern / Switzerland. Among other things he works on the project "Smelling More, Smelling Differently". This project conceives and realizes forms of dialogue about scents and smells as cultural practice.
The current occasion is the new website scentculture.tube - with the claim "Exploring Scent as a Creative Way of Life", the new website makes selected data from the research projects publicly available. The focus is on 27 videos, which provide undisguised insights into the world of fragrance development by Christophe Laudamiel.
The highlight:
Clicking on one of the around 40 tags reorganizes the website, exposes new material - other videos, pictures, snapshots and quotes from research (external & internal). Finally, the project is designed for dialogue with the public. I.e. every video or story can and should be commented and discussed. In short: a kaleidoscope for alert heads and noses.

There will be a virtual launch event with Christophe Laudamiel on July 1st, 2020 —> see link:

U.a. arbeitet er am Projekt "Smelling More, Smelling Differently".

We’ve caught some rain in PETRICHORIC LONGINGS, 2020. We are very happy that the CALL FOR RAIN event last weekend was such a success! Thank you for organizing all this! And we hope the winner of the raffle is happy with the rainy blend, too. We wish a lot of strength to Australia!

Scent Club Berlin has created “PETRICHORIC LONGINGS, 2020”* an olfactory art piece to bring awareness to the misery of the Australian bushfires. Focusing on the hope for the missing rain it embodies the scent of fresh aroma molecules that appear after rain falls on dry earth and burnt wood.
This special scent composition is part of a raffle at the CALL FOR RAIN Australian bushfire fundraise event tonight at Urban Spree. Please join us and support the Australian firefighters!
*By the way, the term “petrichor” was introduced by the two geologists I. J. Bear (Australian) and R. G. Thomas (British), in a 1964 article that appeared in Nature referring to the specific rain smell molecules.

We hope you have the chance to experience GEISTER - the piece focuses on the oppressed, erased and disappeared in our world and finds the traces of burnt witches, qu**rs and other people who do not belong to the privileged majority. created an olfactory component for this performance in close collaboration with director Florian Fischer.
