Fruit Day

Teilen

Fruit Day is every day you eat fruit. Annually 1st July let‘s celebrate and share fruits worldwide.

Share your favorite fruit with your friends, family, colleagues or needy people. Or you could donate some fruit once or on a regular basis to a local NGO to maybe pursue a wider social aim. Make it a healthy and happy Fruit Day for others too: July 1st is International Fruit Day.

Combining fruits
For a healthy, light breakfast, mix creamy unsweetened yoghurt with convenience diced fruits like apples, papaya, watermelon and pineapple. This combo is rich in fiber, protein, vitamins, and antioxidants. Enjoy it chilled for a refreshing start to your day, add a little honey for natural sweetness.

Snacking fruits
A snack pretzel is a crispy, salty baked good shaped like a knot, often sprinkled with coarse salt. Herb curd is a creamy spread made from fresh herbs, cheese, and creamy yogurt, offering a tangy and fragrant flavor. Pairing these with fresh strawberries creates a balanced, sweet-and-savory snack that’s both refreshing and satisfying.

Juicing fruits
Mandarin juice is a refreshing beverage made from the juice of mandarin oranges, known for its sweet and tangy flavor. It is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, making it a healthy choice for boosting immunity. Enjoy it fresh, chilled, or as a base for smoothies and cocktails! Can’t wait to pick these mandarins to make juice.

Culinary fruits
Ornamental fruits like pomegranates, grapes, and citrus are often used in dishes, textiles, and tiles for their vibrant colors and symbolic meanings. In culinary presentations, they add visual contrast and cultural significance, while in clothing and tiles, their patterns evoke themes of abundance and prosperity. These motifs are especially popular in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian designs, blending aesthetic appeal with traditional values.

Scooped fruits
My colleague set up a DIY fruit salad station at SOS-Kinderdorf Berlin with pre-cut fruits in separate bowls, and let each child scoop their favorite mix into a cup or bowl. He offered a mix of sweet, tangy, and crunchy flavors with grapes, apple, banana, physalis and peach to appeal to different tastes. Some kids returned to make a new fruity mix as it was so much fun and delicious.

Scooped fruits
This scoop of ice cream is generously topped with diced strawberries, banana slices, and mango chunks, creating a vibrant mix of colors and flavors. The sweetness of the fruit complements the rich, cool texture of the ice cream, making it a refreshing and delightful treat. This combination is perfect for a hot day or as a light dessert after a meal or a wonderful, cream, healthy snack.

Breakfast fruits
A tisket a tasket, let’s pick something fresh with today’s breakfast!
How about a crisp apple, sweet and crunchy for a snack? Or a juicy pear, full of vitamin C to brighten your day? Add a handful of grapes, tiny bursts of sweetness, or a kiwi, tangy and refreshing with every bite!

Fascinating fruits
Citrus trees are fascinating because they often produce both blossoms and fruit simultaneously. This means you might see fragrant white or pink flowers alongside developing or mature fruit on the same branches. This dual stage is common in healthy citrus trees, especially during the growing season.

Celebrating fruits
German Strawberry Day is celebrated on May 24th, honoring strawberries in culture and agriculture with festivals and markets nationwide.
Strawberries were also voted „Fruit of the Year“ in 2007 by the International Fruit Day initiative. The worldwide celebration of fruit diversity takes place annually on July 1st.
