10 German Sentences You'll Actually Use Today 🇩🇪 Fill the Blank!

Ten German sentences you could genuinely use today — asking for help, finding your keys, paying, closing up. 🇩🇪

Pause on each one and fill the blank before the answer shows.

👀 Watch the vowel flip in sentences 5 and 9: helfen → hilfst, treffen → trifft. The e becomes an i in the du and er/sie/es forms. Same pattern as geben → gibt and sprechen → sprichst.

💡 And notice öffnet and beantworten keep an extra e before the ending — because the stem already ends in a hard consonant cluster. Try saying "öffnt" out loud and you'll hear why.

Ich kann, Ich will, Ich muss | 10 German Sentences You'll Use Daily 🇩🇪

Pause on each one, fill the blank, then check yourself against the reveal.

🤯 Notice something odd about ich kann, sie will, er mag? No -e ending. Modal verbs drop it in the ich form — and the er/sie/es form looks exactly the same. One less thing to memorise.

👀 And the second verb always goes to the very end, in its plain infinitive form: Wir müssen heute arbeiten. No "zu" needed, unlike English "have to work".

10 German Present Tense Sentences — Can You Fill the Blank? 🇩🇪

Ten everyday German sentences in the present tense. 🇩🇪 Pause on each one and fill the blank before the answer appears — how many did you get?

🤯 Watch sentences 6, 7 and 9. German splits certain verbs clean in half: aufstehen becomes stehe … auf, ankommen becomes kommt … an, anrufen becomes rufen … an. The prefix gets kicked to the very end of the sentence. Beginners drop it constantly.

👀 And notice the vowel changes with du and er/sie/es: laufen → läuft, tragen → trägt, geben → gibt, vergessen → vergisst. These are irregular and just have to be memorised.
