What motivates you at your work? Of course, money always plays a role, but it shouldn't be the only factor that motivates you in your everyday work. Ideally, you can apply both, intrinsic and extrinsic factors to your job. This not only makes it easier to access your full potential, but also makes it more fun to pursue your career. 💪📈

This quote of the marketing god himself Seth Godin always reminds me how important is to test your products as often as possible. In times of agile production, testing has become his indisputable place in the product design cycle.

That is one of the explanations for the success of DIY. If you want to use this effect for your marketing, you should consider the following: The effect occurs only after the purchase. People have to build the things first, before they add the value. And usually people tend to be lazy, before they purchase something, they have to build partly themselves. A good way to overcome this is to refer to customization options or faster delivery. Do you have a favorite DIY product at home? Maybe a self made origami? 📃

Have you ever thought about why people delete certain apps after short usage? We did some research about this and came with a list about what are the most common reasons users uninstall their apps. Check them out and let us know if there is something missing in the list.

This quote from Simon Sinek inspires me to make products that instead of hard selling or even manipulate customers to do a specific action, it inspires them to further explore the product.

User Testing is the moment of truth. It allows you to identify at an early stage which problems may arise with the product. Be open for this and don’t block yourself from adapting and changing the idea or prototype. Focus on the user and his experience. The technical functionality of the prototype should be left aside for now. ☝
We hope you enjoyed our little Design Thinking series and learned a lot on the way! Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Over the years we’ve learned that the best results for usability testing comes when we test smaller scenarios with less participants. It takes only 5 users to get around 80% of the problems. In this graphic that I found at nngroup we can see how the development takes place. And the big take out is that as more users you add the less you will learn.

A prototype helps to get an accurate picture of the idea at an early stage. The idea is therefore not only "theoretically" analyzed and discussed. It’s basically better to understand. You can create rough drafts as paper prototype. Once everyone has agreed on a design, the prototype can also be created digitally. Which method you choose is entirely up to you. There are so many other ways, for example lego serious play, process prototyping or prototyping with handicrafts. ✂

This quote from Don Norman puts it to the point. If you want to create something that becomes successful you don’t have to wait to figure out the perfect plan. Start and don’t wait, fail fast and fail often. Thomas Edison once Said: “I have not failed, I’ve just found 10.000 ways that won’t work. Failing will improve your skills and with this your confidence. 👊💪

The previous phases are usually labor-intensive, but in most cases this effort will pay off at the ideation. It’s our favorite phase, because you can be as free and creative as you want If you have difficulties in finding ideas, there are several methods that can help you. For example, reverse brainstorming or the 6-3-5 method. Don’t forget to have a little fun with it. That will help boosting your creativity! 🎆😁

Usability is about finding a quick and easy way to one goal. For instance, a purchase in an online shop. The usability is then limited to this specific process. The user experience goes much further. The usability is then limited to this specific process. The user experience goes much further. Questions such as "Have the articles been appealingly wrapped before dispatch?" are relevant here. But this is just one example. The Experience can still be modified in many other aspects. 📦 VS 🎁

In this process step you define viewpoints. What may previously have been just assumptions can thus be confirmed or possibly be disproved. All this information from the research is synthesized into concrete results. They are then transformed into personas, for example. This way, the results become even more understandable for the part of the team that was not involved in the research, for example. Plus: It is a very good basis for the following steps in the Design Thinking process. 🤔🧐🤓
