Today marks 80 years since the end of World War II. At histoCON, we had the honor of welcoming Federal President .steinmeier who spoke about
remembrance and what we should learn from history.
He took time to personally engage with the participants from around the world as they shared their photo exhibitions—each one a reflection of how World War II connects
with their lives.
Furthermore, participants explored Berlin’s history firsthand in a scavenger hunt to significant sites like Rosenstraße and the memorial for the victims of National Socialist “euthanasia” killings.
Now, we come together for one final evening to celebrate this powerful week of learning, dialogue and connection. Thank you to everyone who made histoCON 2025 so special🌍

who engaged so lively in the sessions and even got creative - by recording podcasts,
taking photos, creating mini manifestos or boosting their energy level with dance
yoga🫶🏽

We look back on an exciting first day - the participants had the chance to reexamine the
complex history of WWII in a variety of workshops, discover historical sites in Berlin through
walking tours and dive into hands-on activities and interactive formats to exchange with
others. 🤩
