Tracking wolves, moose & badgers with a field zoologist? Sure, in Masuria, exactly that was the program at the V4 Biology Excursion! Moreover, students collected a lot of fancy beetles and leeches, and also a giant "chicken-of-the-woods" mushroom (Laetiporus sulphureus), which was used for a later-evening feast.

Today, the V4 Excursion spent the day mostly by traveling to the beautiful Masurian Lakes. Next two days will be full of exploring the postglacial landscapes, searching for beavers (bobr) and all the other organisms of this unique area.

After a week of rest, another V4Gen Biology Excursion just started today in Poland! The meeting took place in Warsaw, and then we moved to the small village of Smołdzinski Las. The field exploration of the Baltic coast is planned for tomorrow, but several students decided to reach the 3 km far seashore even today to see the beautiful sunset! Takao Ishikawa
